NOTES:
1)
EastBay still ship Vans, and Timberland to Australia. ShoeBuy and others appear to now refuse shipping these brands to Australia. It seems that EastBay restrict some models of NIKE shoes.

2)
Shipping is super fast via UPS! My last few orders were delivered 3-4 days after ordering. Minimum shipping fee is US$33 (minimum) or 25% of order whichever is greater. So, order a few pairs - 20% off gives you the equivalent of free shipping (mostly).

3)
My savings on local prices has never been less than 50% - That is, $90 cost here, $45 landed at my door from Eastbay. Often up to 66%-75% $220 Rockports/Timberland at my door for $58-$65.

Eastbay is a leading world supplier of athletic shoes, clothing and sports equipment. It was established to meet the performance needs of local high school and college athletes within Central Wisconsin. Originally viewed as a grassroots project, this venture grew into a worldwide direct mail catalog and internet sales conglomerate featuring top athletic brands such as adidas, ASICS, Reebok, Jordan, New Balance, Saucony and Nike.

The company began in 1980 when boyhood pals and high school coaches Art Juedes and Rick Gering set out to find professional-quality shoes for their athletes and ended up in business for themselves. With little more than $7,000 worth of running shoes and a dream, the pair took to the road and set up shoe clinics near their Wausau, WI hometown. At each stop they educated attendees with the benefits of their shoes and provided descriptive price lists.

Three years later, in 1983, these price list handouts became a four-color catalog featuring track & field shoes, basketball shoes, football cleats and baseball cleats. The catalog was a catalyst for sales. In 1988, phone operators were hired to take orders. In 1989, Eastbay began a Team Sales division and in 1990 created and produced its first in-house Team Sales catalog. By 1990, Eastbay's Call Center, Shipping and Creative Departments occupied nearly an entire city block.

Eastbay also established its own clothing brand in 1990, offering jackets, pants, shorts and tops in a variety of team colors and styles, all featuring the signature Eastbay logo.

On Friday, Sept. 29, 1995 Eastbay went public and opened on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Two years later, shareholders sold the company to retail giant Woolworth.

In July 1997, Eastbay moved its downtown corporate operation and retail store to a larger space in Wausau's near west side. Three months later it combined the shipping department and various warehouses into a new 500,000-square-foot Distribution Center located in the outskirts of Wausau. In March 1998, Eastbay converted its informational website into an active ecommerce site at www.eastbay.com. Eastbay also manages an additional call center in Oshkosh, WI.

Although an era ended when Eastbay founders Art and Rick retired on June 30, 1999, the business continues to thrive. Eastbay's parent company, Woolworth, also underwent revision in November 2001, changing its name to Foot Locker, Inc., a reflection of its global commitment to the athletic shoes and apparel business.

i give you +1 for copying so much of eastbay's history. as for the deal, 20% is quite regular. Maybe when you see a 30% code you can inform us again.

    • +1

Thank you. I did that because last time I posted an EastBay 'deal' I was asked who they were.

Actually, it is the 15% coupons that are "quite regular" - while the 20% coupons are 'irregular' and quite sort after. I have never seen a 30% off code.

      • sought

yea 20% is pretty regular plus easybay charges too much for the shipping fees.
you might wanna check out http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/46798
Even tho they dnt ship timberland, some nikes….. but they have supra etc.
it's better deal IMO, 30% off over $120 or 25% off over $75, plus the minimum shipping fee is around $17

    • I don't think EastBay's International Shipping fees are too high - considering.

On my past 3 orders I have received 4 pairs for A$30 to A$34 - A$7.50 to A$8.50 a pair - with delivery in 3 days. Overall savings are still 75% to 50% less than Australian prices.

Also, I (almost always) need to order Vans. Rockport, and Timberland. So, Dr.Jays and ShoeBuy, etc. are not always suitable. I alternate between the 'big 3' - EastBay, ShoeBuy, and Dr.Jays, when the discount codes are 'best'.

      • yea they are good retailers that ship australia. You also want to notice the fact that they recently dont ship some signature basketball shoes to australia. like kobe or lebron.

  • i wish eastbay stocks tennis stuff

  • +3

I recently signed up with eastbay and made a purchase, I then received a coupon for 20% off giftcards. Bought myself a coupon and used the promo code above, so essentially received a 40% discount.

  • Is there a way to see what they wont ship to Aus without adding it to your cart and going 3/4 through the process?
Its a pain in the ass when it tells you that one of your items cant be shipped but it doesnt tell you what.

    • When you view the item the first line in the details is in red and says will only ship to the US. I had the same problem with all the NorthFace gear.

    • A lot of the time they will say at the bottom of the description that THIS PRODUCT CAN ONLY BE SHIPPED TO US ADDRESSES. It's usually written at the bottom after the description.

      All Asics products are restricted
Signature basketball shoes are restricted (most - not all)
All edible products - Gatorade - energy gels etc
      All Etnies
Please feel free to add to the list - they are the ones I know of.

      • Add saucony and Levi's .
It's the asics that are most missed to me .

        • Agreed about the Asics. Im waiting for the next Wiggle discount to get a pair as they have the Nimbus 13 for $160 list price so that would make it $128 delivered.
Had a good look through Eastbay and TBH for me there are better options out there.

        • Try startfitness for asics . the have a great special on at the moment for 2 pairs of 2160's for less than $200 delivered .

  • I was wondering what the size difference is between adidas and nike? im a US11 in nikes, never had a pair of adidas's and a few of there pairs look nice

    • you can always go to your local adidas store and try them on first then buy online, that's what i did

  • Hi dan76n

    You said -

"Agreed about the Asics. Im waiting for the next Wiggle discount to get a pair"

I assume you are referring to wiggle.co.uk ? It seems aimed at cyclists? I guess it all depends on the brand(s) and/or type(s) of shoes one is looking to buy.

"Had a good look through Eastbay and TBH for me there are better options out there."

What does "TBH" stand for? As for "better options", it all depends upon what you are buying (brands/types), and how many pairs. For me, I have found that Eastbay is best and cheapest. ShoeBuy second best, and a little more expensive 'all up' due to shipping charges. Please note that I always buy 4 to 6 pairs at a time, and pairs costing around $36-$45 (usually two to three pairs) and $52-$72 (again usually two to three pairs).

  • Sorry, yes referring to wiggle.co.uk.
    "To Be Honest".

Agreed it depends what ur buying hense "for me"
Eg, I am after Asics shoes and they don't ship them. I'm also after some Under Armour clothing and the particular items I'm interested in are excluded from the 20% off.
In my case I'm better off shopping elsewhere.
I'm not voting possitive for this reason but I can see the potential of this deal so I'm not going to give it a negative either.

    • Hello again dan76n

"I am after Asics shoes and they don't ship them. (to Australia)"

The shipping restrictions imposed by 'some' brands upon some of their resellers/dealers are very bothersome. This is the reason that I have to order shoes from two or three different USA suppliers in order to obtain the Vans, Rockport, and Timberland brands.

I note that the company that owns Vans is just now buying Timberland for US$2.2 billion - So the shipping restriction on Timberland from some sellers may change in the future (for the worse).

I have just ordered four pairs of Vans for my son. The 4 models I purchased cost A$100, and A$120 each here - A$440 versus the A$165 it cost me after PayPal's exchange rate. A saving of A$275.

"I'm also after some Under Armour clothing"

A friend has just been advised that the Rosignol Ski Boots he purchased from www.rei.com / www.rei-outlet.com can not be shipped to Australia. So, I am using my HopShopGo.com account to have them delivered to my/their USA address and to be shipped to Australia from there. Perhaps you can use HopShopGo, or a similar service, to make your ASICs and Under Armour purchases?

  • Hi Guys

Can anybody confirm if the Nike Zoom Kobe VI and the Lebron 8 V2's can or cannot be delivered to Australia? The Lebrons have no mention of being restricted to USA at all. The Kobe's say International Shipping Restrictions May Apply. However, Asics / Lacoste clearly say This product can be shipped to US addresses ONLY.

As far as I can tell, nobody should have any issues with Basketball shoes???

    • find a shoe shop in Cleveland..they will probably give it to you for free.

    • yes they changed this recently. Due to many ppl like us buy Nike signature shoes from eastbay, so footlockers stopped the export to Australia.

      • Hi Mate

A bit off topic, but what's the best/cheapest alternative to Eastbay for those restricted Nike shoes?

        • Wiggle or start fitness of the top of my head
