Hey guys just wondering is it true that officeworks wont beat the price of harris technology because they are owned by the same parent company?
Officeworks pricematch (beat by 5%)
Comments
Nope
If the store is refusing to pricematch HT then ring up headoffice and they'll sort them out for you.

They said if you find an advertised price ANYWHERE, then they will beat it by 5%. So that means it doesn't matter if the stores are owned by the same parent company, if the lowest priced isn't advertised at OW but is at the other store OW will still have to pricematch it (otherwise that's misleading advertising).thanks guys. i thought about it a bit more but basically it probably works out the same to go to HT and buy it..let me know what you think…
The product is the Readynas NV+
a) Officeworks (special order) $447 + 4.95 handling fee = $451.95
b) HT $298 + 9.98 postage (technically i could pick it up in store) = $307.98so even if they beat it by 5% it would be $307.98 * 0.95 = 292.58 + 4.95 handling fee = 297.53.
Note: The sales guys on the phone said the handling fee cant be waived. Also since its a special order i have to wait 7-10days.
So all in all doesn't seem worth it. HT isn't that far away, easier to pick it up in store for the same price.
If you can pick it up instore then the pricematch would turn out to be $288.05 (inc handling fee)
It's up to you whether $19.50 is worth the 7-10 days wait.
woot! Got it price matched 283.1 + 4.95 handling. Got a WDC 500gb pocket hd for $48 at the same time since i was already paying the handling fee.
Thanks guys :)
you should have gotten all the 1c and 10c stuff they had in the clearance.
Might have been worth selling on ebay or something?
I think, by law from what they've advertised, they "must" beat the price by 5% if you've found it cheaper elsewhere (even if owned by same parent company). But if the item you see is from an online store, they'll only price match IF the total price (item + shipping) is lower than officeworks price.
Oh, and they must have stock available for the Quantity you want to purchase.
