Does Your Car Have to Have a Spare Tyre in The Boot to Pass a Blue Slip?

Borrow a tire and throw it in there. Return the tire after.
Shipping may be prohibitively expensive from America ;)
Feck. I can never remember what the local spelling is.
Tyre?
Wouldn't it be yes if the vehicle is supposed to come with it and you're not running run flat tyres? Happy to be corrected/clarified. Alternatively, try it and let us all know! :)
i think brz no spares and not running run flat from factory
{NSW} No it doesn't (many modern cars don't have spares) but if it does have a spare it has to be roadworthy. I highly doubt they will even look for a spare unless they are trying to make your life miserable.
A spare only has to be roadworthy if it is on the road - otherwise your car would be unroadworthy if you got a flat, put the spare on the car and the flat tyre in the boot.
Logically yes but since when has the RMS made sense?
I haven't had my rego check licence since 1989 so all the rules have probably changed.
I remember having to knock back a guy because his spotlights didn't work. Told him if they weren't fitted I could pass it it. I lent him the tools and he took them off and I passed it.
The guy i use now doesn't check anything but the brakes. He just drives around the block, comes back and says "Geez, that's quick"… every time:-) It's not even a quick car.
I’m sure we had this question not very long ago. The answer is no, you don’t need a spare in the car and if you have one the spare only needs to be roadworthy if you are using it on the road.
Think about it: if you blow a tyre and shred it, then change to your roadworthy spare your car does not become unroadworthy because you have a blown tyre in the boot. Otherwise you would not be able to change a tyre and drive away.
