Once they're off Game Pass, you can't play them anymore unless you've bought the game
I don't think it's like Games with Gold or PS+ where you just need to "purchase" them and they are available as long as you still have Gold/PS+, once they leave Gamepass thats it, no more downloading, no more playing, you gotta play them while they are on Gamepass or miss your chance.
That's right. I recently tried to play a game that I had downloaded which had been removed from Gamepass and received an error message upon boot up.
some games leave on the day but I've had a couple still playable for days, one a couple of weeks, but they disappeared from the game pass section on my console on time, you have to find them in your installed section, so if you only get around to trying out a game as it is leaving and find you like it you might get lucky for a few days or more (or not).
haven't figured out if it's related to updates or not, but lost the 2 weeks extra game (layers of fear, i think) after an update but might have been coincidental, anyone else know?
also there is the playing offline glitch thing that might still work. basically you can/could play (some) game pass games offline for a month before it needs you to connect to the internet to check if you still have a subscription, this was a cheat if you have recurring billing turned on then before your subscription needs to be billed again you put your console offline (and turn off wifi auto connect/unplug/etc so it won't connect later) and cancel recurring billing on your PC so you can play offline for a month without a subscription. that could be a way you can keep playing an offline game for a bit longer. And BTW no I didn't use this previously, I am always online.
P.S.
i'll miss u vemintide II, maybe try you in offline modeP.P.S.
next up hero (left june 27th) is the only june expired game still working for me
Hitman is a really good stealth game - a lot more methodical and slower (in a good way) than you might expect.
Once you download a game, then leaves the service, you’ll have to buy it outright instead.
+1 for Hitman, that's a bloody great game.
So much replayability in each level, too, with so many different ways to achieve each objective.
Hitman is such a great game. I just started to play it.
Gonna buy one from Steam then. It is currently very cheap at the sale price for the full game

Ok…I think I need to be more selective when buying older Xbox One games now that I have Gamepass! Purchased two of those games they will add just in the last few months.
Not really, this leaving game crap is annoying.
Especially if you're still playing or haven't gotten around to a particular game you want to play but you know that going into the service. If it's something you really want to keep, then it's still worth buying.
At least by that point they tend to be fairly old, so are cheap to pick up.
And you get a discount on the games in Game Pass.
Yeah I just bought Shadow of war, annoying!
Iron Brigade is a fun game. Looking forward to Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The games catalog is unbelievable. I wonder how this will impact other stores, eg, Humble Bundle, Steam.
Cool, I've been wanting to play LEGO City Undercover since it was first released on the Wii U!
My Time in Portia looked like a fun time waster too, keen to check it out.
Buy a Wii U and with a little tinkering, every Wii U, Wii and GameCube game is free.
Use CEMU and if your PC is fast enough, play Wii U games at 4K, 60fps, with AA and AF enabled.I did try to do that to my Wii U recently and unfortunately couldn't work it out :(

There seems to be one day left to pick up game pass for PC beta for $1.
Game pass ultimate is also $1 to join, doesn't seem to have a date for when that sale finishes.
I've still got a few days left on my gamepass but I guess I should pickup another month of the PC one today before the sale finishes. You can pick up the PC beta for $1 (that one can be converted to Ultimate if you pick up the Ultimate deal).
The Ultimate deal, for people with Xbox Insider app installed and reached level 5, if you are on Delta beta program or higher, it is likely you can get $1 for 3 months of GamePass Ultimate. However, I needed to contact Support to do the actual purchase, on the Web, it seems to show just 1 month.
All these games, so little time to play.
The Game Pass and Xbox live will be one thing very soon (most OzB'ers would've already converted their Game Pass and Live subscriptions)
True that
So why does that make this a deal? They should move this stuff to forums if people want to post it here.
Agree mate
I wish I had an xbox one X, I am playing tomb raider 3 on my xbox from game pass and I can actually tell the textures/resolution is a bit muddy/blirry compared to my ps4 pro.
But the next gen is so close I cant justify spending the money on it
Yeh, I have Xbox One S an One X and Pro.
The difference on the X for the games I play are amazingly different.
Oh, Hitman is such a great game. I just started to play it.
Gonna buy one on Steam then. It is very cheap at the sale price for the full gameExcellent,
Shadow of War I never checked out but the missus quite enjoys LotR so we'll hit that up. Don't really give a toss about LotR myself but the first one had fun enough gameplay to jump back in.
Lego Undercover I sold my Switch copy of a while back and felt like playing again, but a friend has my Wii U borrowed so I can't just pirate it there.
Dead Rising 4 I traded a couple weeks back in the 70% bonus trade deal as I felt it was coming to GP soon so that's pretty perfect timing.Dead Rising 2 leaving sucks, but I have it on PS4 from Humble Bundle so I guess I'm okay there. Plus I never got around to playing it on either console so eh.
Decent additions, I'm happy.
Amazing! Was just about to buy Undertale on the Steam sale, so this timing is most fortunate indeed.
I went a big trigger happy and utilised the deal to upgrade XBL Gold to Ultimate (i.e. convert XBL months to game pass months) .. ended up with 28 months for about $140 lol
This update makes me think it'll be worth it :)
Are any of those games "leaving console" worth grabbing? Once i download them, can i then delete them and redownload at anytime…?
