I'm after a reloadable card that I can let my children use online, or for them to take on shopping trips. I want prepaid because it limits how much they spend and is less hassle if they lose it. It must be reloadable. Woolworths, Coles and AusPost don't seem to have these anymore. Anyone know of where I can get one?
Where Can I Buy a Reloadable Visa or Mastercard Gift Card?

Agreed. Gift cards are often treated like cash. If they lose them, it’s gone. If it’s a bank account there is likely an app you can lock the card and then request a new one.
Agreed.
You can set up a auto transfer of an allowance etc.
Qantas Cash now called Travel Money can be used locally.
https://www.qantasmoney.com/travel-money-cardThat product has age restrictions, if they're of legal age to hold a debit card get one with a real bank.
If your child has a commonwealth bank account, they can grab a mastercard debit travel card with no fees and load australian dollars plus foreign currency for travel. Has expiry date of 2 years.
We just opened an ANZ bank account with a card for our kids. But i have seen this popup on fb feeds - https://www.spriggy.com.au
Australia post has one
Edit.. Sorry saw you mentioned they don't have them anymore. Im pretty sure I saw it at my local Aust post 2 weeks ago when I was there tho
They've just completed the shutdown of the previous product they have made changes and re-released under a new brand name you can see them both here Personally, I wouldn't recommend using these types of products you've gotta watch the fees and hidden fine print and charges.
Have a look at this : https://vascopay.com/
Some useful replies thanks
Why not use a credit debit card from any bank (most have it for free) and transfer money into it. If they lose they will send you another
