As a bit of a follow up to the last thread, I've more or less deded on using mobile broadband for home internet. Just got a few questions on it now.
What would be the best deals on the Telstra network for this? As of right now it's looking to be Telstras own offerings ($50 for 50gb then capped at 1.5mbs), but I'm not sure how bad they throttle before hitting said cap.
What would be the ideal set-up for this router (modem?) wise
I just ordered this for my mum to watch netflix. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-n300-4g-lte-modem-wireles…
I want to use it with a kogan starter sim https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/453211#comment
I chose this modem so I could use ethernet from the modem to the Telstra TV 1.
Hasn't arrived yet but for the price I thought it was worth a shot. The Huawei B525 seems to be tied to post paid contracts using the optus network (and resellers).
At the moment I have temporarily set her up on Boost $50 plan with this modem ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/463426 ) that has been unlocked.
**I didn't realise similar modems were available at officeworks, I may have been better with DLink or TPlink. Oh well. I will report back.
