Europe - Suggestions for 3 Days

We are in travelling through Europe and have around 3 to 4 days before flying back from Budapest. We have done Vienna, Prague and Krakaw and currently in Krakaw. Considering the hot weather in Europe does anyone have any suggestions to where to spend the remaining 3 to 4 days? We discounted Salzburg and Hallstatt as its going to be around 33 degrees there and not sure if walking around in that heat would be much fun. Would like to go somewhere that would be accessible from Krakaw within 10 to 12 hours by train or bus.

Is flying not an option? I would go to Skyscanner and search KRK to Everywhere.

I would think Salzburg would be okay, plenty of shade from the building, and the castle would be good up on the hill.

Also added bonus with the hot weather, most of the Europeans will be avoiding the sun, in weather that we call a normal summer day. T-shirt, shorts, hat, and sunscreen weather.

I certainly wouldn't miss out on seeing beautiful towns like Salzburg because it's only 33 degrees.

  • Stick to Poland then. Gdansk and Wroclaw are fabulous places to spend a few days.

  • We are disappointed that we couldn't do Salzburg this time but will have to keep it for the next time. Surprisingly Berlin is very well connected with overnight trains and is spared from soaring temperatures over next week.

As suggested by bugsbunny will probably stay in Poland and visit Gdansk or Wroclaw or go to Tatra Mountains for some hiking.

  • Are you just flying out of Budapest or spending time there?

Budapest has a lot of thermal baths and pools. Just add 3 days and soak up the sun!

  • Thanks all for some great suggestions. We extended our stay in Krakow by another day and the rest of the days in Budapest.

We were considering Miskolc as a stopover from Krakow but decided against it due to limited travel options between Krakow and Miskolc.

    Amazing memories now!
