Good price… but waiting for a deal on either the ultimate with hub or companion

I'd be holding out for a great deal on the Harmony Elite, like the $200 deal that I scored via JB Hi-Fi.

    • Ditto. I think if a decent deal for the Elite comes out it will be fairly popular on here. I think < $200 is my trigger.

Got one of these 3 years ago from a dick smith clearance for $99. It’s not a great remote as you have to look down to use the scene functions. Touch isn’t a great idea for home theater.

    • What's a 'scene function'?

      • The touch screen on the remote

Macro functions - eg. Switch everything off

        • Switch everything off is a physical button on this remote. Activities àre on-screen menu items.

    • I got the same deal I think….

If any Harmony owner is looking for logo icons for TV channels.

I don't understand the appeal of universal remotes, especially at this price point.
Y'all realise remotes come free with most appliances?

    • I’d rather have one remote control my tv, Blu Ray, console, media player, amp etc etc then 7 or 8 remotes floating around

      • -1

That makes sense. I only have one remote as well - that's the TV remote.
Sound system turns on when the TV turns on. Chromecast and Xbox sound are passed through the TV to the sound system.
No other appliances except those mentioned.

        • Do you get up off the couch to turn your lights off/down too?

          • @MagicMikez32: Don't need to, got a Yeelight which can be controlled by the Google Home Mini

    • One remote with a 'Play movie' button, or four different ones to manage TV, Shield, Amp, projector? I know what my wife and kids prefer to use. Not to mention that my Home Assistant setup can now tell what activity is in use, and run or pause other activities based on what's going on in the media room.
