How to Make The Best Nescafe Blend 43 Coffee?

Hi All,

This may seem like an odd one, but I cannot find anywhere on the internet that provides relevant instructions on how to make the most optimal Nescafe Blend 43 Coffee.

NOW, before somebody says 'hur hur hur you throw down the sink hur hur hur' - this is serious.

I know that coffee is a subjective thing, lets just say I like it strong and slightly sweet where I can still taste the coffee.

I once worked at a place that only had Blend 43, it was dispensed from an AromaCup AC2000 - https://images.app.goo.gl/VdaTCWpuW6J8rnzu7 - I had the perfect algorithm with this thing, it would dispense the correct amount of Nescafe Blend 43 & Sugar. In saying that, it was very strong, but I frothed it.

Unfortunately, living in Melbourne, this is not a conversation I can commonly have with people as everyone wanks over their coffee; myself included, but I am current unemployed so I am trying to get by in a more economical way.

I have tried 2 teaspoons of Nescafe Blend 43 and 1 teaspoon of raw sugar + a full cup of water - too watery.
I have tried 2 teaspoons of Nescafe Blend 43 and 1 teaspoon of raw sugar + a half cup of water - still too watery.
I have tried 1 lumped tablespoon of Nescafe Blend 43 and 1 half tablespoon of sugar + a half cup of water - this is better, but still not as good as I remember it..

Maybe its the raw sugar? I dont know.

Please let me know how you make your daily Nescafe Blend 43 so that I can try and get my life back on track.

Thanks for your community service.

  • Only a few people know this.

2 tsp B43/ or any coffee for that matter
    Pour 1/2 cup boiling water
    Stir
Add 3 tsp sugar BUT DON'T STIR…THIS IS THE SECRET
    BEST INSTA COFFEE

  • 1/2 a cup of e10 and run it through your Camry to clear the carby

  • As others mentioned, you just need to use all milk. I like having it cold with milk when Nescafe is the only option.

  • I notice less is more with this coffee. Too much and you can't taste it.

    2 tspn coffee + 2 tbspn milk + sugar

STIR this up nice and good till it's a frothy paste

Top it off with 3/4 full hot water.

I prefer mine with minimum milk and sugar but this stirring makes it creamier

Moccona is where it's at for instant coffee.

    • I would of agreed with you back in the 90's / 00's.. but I think something has changed or maybe Im getting older & my taste buds have changed.. it doesn't taste the same these days.

      • They've changed the blend for the classic medium roast and there was quite an outcry at the time.

I now prefer their Barista Reserve Smooth Espresso but I've been told that it's more suited for a woman's palate ( which I am ) by a snooty barista🤷‍♀️

I grew up with Moccona medium roast, but I tried Caramel infused Moccona probably 5 years ago or so and I almost vomited. Then went to hand burr grinder & drip filtered for awhile. Tried Moccona medium roast not long ago and I just couldn't drink it. Then I discoverd Coles organic :P

  • Greek frappe style is fun.

    • Last time I got asked to do anything Greek frappe style, it meant something very different…

  • Use condensed milk instead of sugar.

Fill the whole cup with devondale uht milk and heat in the microwave A tea spoon of coffee and gently stir. Mmm so rich and velvety.

    • r u serious ? I haven't had UHT milk in donkey years. I dont remember it being good.

    Condense milk fixes everything.

    • Can't agree more with this
      Sugar makes people happy!!!

  • Is this just about making cheap coffee without an espresso machine? Because that’s actually really easy, we all just became too snobby and forgot how to do it.
It’s just hot water and beans.

Overseas I’ve discovered hand poured coffee, and it’s better than you’d expect while costing hardly anything.
You basically place a filter in a holder, sit it over a cup, add some ground coffee, and slowly pour boiling water on top. That’s basically it. Fancy cafes that do this can spend 5mins pouring, but that’s nuts.

You get a cup of long black coffee that has good flavour from high quality beans. I’m not sure where to buy the equipment, but I bought a Hario V60 (seems to be the most popular) with a load of filters for under $5 while overseas. So I expect the Australian markup couldn’t exceed $20.

This makes a better long black than you get from espresso+water which is a terrible option anyway. But it doesn’t work for coffee shots, or frothy milky coffees.

    • I do this for blacks, with a Daiso plastic dripper and non bleached filter paper using locally roasted aldi beans :)

      • Oh yea Daiso would have them. That's perfect.
I had one of those cheap ones for a while, then treated myself to the expensive $5 one. No difference.

  • I make it with all milk, makes it creamy and doesn't need sugar or at least very little sugar. People I've made it for have been converted to doing it this way too. A latte you buy at a cafe only has about 30ml of water yet we make these things with 150 to 220ml and we wonder why people crap on the taste of instant. Funnily no-one complains about filtered coffee which is just coffee soup.

1 and a bit tsp of the instant, a quarter cup of milk lightly stirred. Ping for 20 seconds then stir again. Fill it up with milk and hit it with another 70 seconds.

The next best way is cold, 2tsp of coffee 1-2 tsp of sugar, stir or shake (in bottle or shaker). This is what all the iced milk companies do they just use 5-7tsp of sugar.

  • I've used those Aromacup type dispensers before at a previous site, and you basically turn it left to right, and right to left, and it dispenses one "shot" of powder per actuation. You would have had to dispense the coffee, and then dispense the sugar, and it should be the same measurement for the left and right canister.

So when you say you had the perfect algorithm, you should remember how many actuations you did for the coffee and for the sugar, right? Just replicate that ratio (e.g. 2 turns coffee + 3 turns sugar = 2 teaspoons coffee + 3 teaspoons sugar), and then the guesswork will be the amount of liquid you add.

On a separate tangent, I remember there used to be an coffee machine that frothed milk, but you used it with instant coffee instead of pods or ground coffee. Might be perfect for you?

p.s. props to you for sticking to instant coffee. Taste is subjective and don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't drink. :D

Go to the pharmacy and buy caffeine pills after you use the rest of the instant stuff

  • my wallet loves $1 7/11 coffee a lot compared to all the others.

  • I couldnt get the mixture right, so i instead just bought g7 instant coffee. Much more simple if you are going the instant coffee route.

You can get them in some asian stores for ~$15 for 100 satchel

  • My Mum used to drink this constantly…

Put Jug on, grab a cup out…
1 (heaped) teaspoon Nescafe Blend 43
    2 (heaped) teaspoons raw sugar
Fill 1/4 or 1/5 with milk (depending how white you like it)
…Wait for jug to finish boiling…
    Fill with hot water
    Stir vigorously

I used to think it strange to not add the water first to dissolve the coffee/sugar easier, but she could always tell the difference if I did do the water first.

  • Drain it through a horse - can't taste any worse…

  • Side note :When Robert Timm goes on 1/2 price it is $2/100g which is 1/2 price cheaper than 43.

I lurk the hell out of this place but had to respond. Whilst in a ahem….. residential facility we would celebrate Sunday's with the other birdies by having a round of milkies.

What's a milkie you ask……worth more than your life if you don't get it right…….lol a bag of white ox will get you murdered, a milkie ruined will see you tortured.

    1 mug
    2 teaspoons nescafe
    3 teaspoons sugar
1 dash of cold water vigorousky stirred
    2/3 full cream milk
60 second intervals on high for 3.5 mins
    Stir every 60, with vigour.
Then 1 full minute on medium
Finally a splash of cold milk

Enjoy your jail cappuccino. Trust me it's good, microwave time varies on how many getting made and wattage, you become a good judge after a couple years practice

Fyi if someone is microwaving a Chinese container full of jam or honey when you approach to make your milkie then best you just cancel your coffee date and make yourself scarce.

  • I think your question is an oxymoron.

It's like asking how to make poop less smelly.

The way you repeatedly type the full name 'Nescafe Blend 43' makes this look like you're a shill for, well, Nescafe Blend 43.

  • 1 Heaped teaspoon
    85% Boiling water
    15% Milk

I have this 2-3 times a day free coffee at the office. I'm not paying $5 a cup for coffee

  • INGREDIENTS
    1/3 cup Nescafe Blend 43
    2 cups (300g) self-raising flour
3/4 cup (150g) firmly packed brown sugar
    120g ground hazelnuts
    1 1/4 cups (310ml) buttermilk
    2 eggs
    125g unsalted butter, melted, cooled
    Cocoa powder, to dust
    Thickened cream, to serve

    METHOD
    Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 12-hole muffin pan.
    Step 2
Sift the flour into a large bowl and add the brown sugar and hazelnuts. In a separate bowl, add the coffee to the buttermilk and stir to dissolve, then whisk in the eggs and butter. Add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Divide mixture between the muffin pans and bake for 20 minutes, then set aside to cool.

  • So I read, on YouTube, trying the following to make any instant coffee better, add coffee mix to small amount of milk with sugar if you wish, and microwave for a short time to partially dissolve the coffee in the milk, then stir vigorously, and then slowly add hot water.

This may improve the taste, slightly.

  • I know your budget is tight, but Jarrah range coffee is $3 for 250g, cheapest coffee I ever seen, and according to customer reviews they are better than blend 43.
