[NSW] Kagoshima A5 Wagyu Rump Steak 300g $29.40 (was $42) @ Osawa Enterprises

200

Hi all,

Found this great deal on A5 Kagoshima steak.
Unfortunately it's only rump, but judging by the marbling in the photo, I don't think it matters to be honest.

Free click and collect in Sydney (Strathfield), or $15 shipping. Minimum order of $50, so you gotta get at least 2 steaks.
FREE shipping on $100 minimum spend.
Also, there is a 10% off coupon if you sign up to their newsletter using code 10%INTRO, but cant be used with this deal (thanks williamk30)

    • OP - Sydney only deal.

      From their website:

  • Wow! That's rump steak?

Don't know what I've been eating all these years then but it looked nothing like that :(

    • Haha well, it is higher grade Wagyu.

Much juicier steak, don't stuff it up by overcooking it.

If you ever visit Kagoshima in Kyuushu Japan, try the kurobuta black pig pork. Some say the pigs are fed nothing but sweet potato and strawberries for their first year. Really good pork. Excellent place to visit, take the JR train from Fukuoka.

Do they deliver to Melbourne. I tried to order and at the checkout and payment page it says issue with shipping address. Tried to ring them gets to the message bank.

    • Plenty of comments above indicating that delivery is Sydney only

  • How do they make the cow so high in fat, force feed it milkshakes?

    • Google is usually your friend:

Wagyu literally means “Japanese cow,” and it refers to four native breeds: Japanese Black, Japanese Brown, Japanese Shorthorn, and Japanese Polled.
Wagyu cattle are genetically predisposed to have high levels of unsaturated fats.

  • How long can you store this for?

ordered 4 pieces, guess I can cancel my Jetstar ticket to Japan now.

    • +1

You might want to hold on your jetstar flight and cancel your wagyu as mine arrived looking like A1 rather than A5

      • you're kidding right? i havent collect mine yet

        • Nope, please refer to the image below mate

  • Now THIS is what I call quality meat, none of that Sutton meat which claims to be top grade but is nothing compared to this.

Went to pick it up, looks nothing like the marbling in the photo. Still damn tasty though

    • Photos?

  • Arrived today but it’s not A5, marble like local A1, I reckon even Costco wagyu is even more mablen than this, very very misleading ads

    • Photos?

      • +1
      • Generally Costco wagyu is around A2 and this is only maybe on part or lower grade than costco wagyu….

        • +1

thats no where near the A5 mable, extremly misleading

    • I'm glad i got a refund now.
I ordered pick-up within 1 hour of the bargain posting, got confirmation to pick up. They called me few days later and said its "sold out", i believe they just sold it to someone else rather than putting it aside.

Ontop of that, i said well i guess you are sold can i get something else or a different cut.
He said, i can't promise you the same quality and we don't do that.
Great way to do business, mess up an order and not even compensate.

      • Not in business for long run for sure, disgraceful to deal with

    • I know pretty much nothing about these things so just wondering , how do you tell the marbling

    • Is Costco wagyu cheaper than this?

      • 80ish per kg from memory, but not A5 though

  • +1

I got mine yesterday, it wasnt quite as nice as the advertisement pictures. I bought two pieces, 1 piece looked like bms8 the other looked bms 10. I'll try to get some pics

    Edit: https://imgur.com/a/XAKc8AU

    • That’s still way better than mine….what a shame

      • Yea, looks like you got a bad piece. Mine were delicious, more than happy with it.

        • I’m not saying mine doesn’t tastes good, Costco wagyu also tastes good it’s just that they shouldn’t have sell them as A5 which obviously they are not that’s all
