Posting this on behalf of a friend
They booked 2 return tickets through the Oman air website. Paid using a debit card and confirmation page appeared with a booking reference number.
Now, 2 weeks later, there is no evidence of the booking. No money has been taken out of the account. There was no confirmation email. They called Oman air and they could find no booking using that reference number.
Any ideas what may have happened?
Yes the fact there was no email confirmation should have raised alarm bells
The photos I saw of the reservation number looked like the legitimate site

2 weeks ago could it have been a similar fake site to steal credit card details, that would explain the confirmation number not being recognised by the real Oman air. Perhaps card deteils will be used illegally later, or theyve been sold

Unfortunately I doubt much can be done now (2 weeks later). Your friend should have contacted them immediately when the payment didn’t go through and they didn’t get a confirmation email…
Sounds like a glitch happened maybe with their website or payments processor
But he should have contacted them same day or day after if he didnt get an email or any money taken out
