    That price is only the delivered price if you have Amazon Prime otherwise it's $20.84 for delivery.

    It's also cheaper via Amazon US. Even with delivery it works out to be $208.11.

      Updated - I posted a deal recently from Amazon US and the mods added GST - was going to post the $208.11 deal but thought it would be better with the Amazon AU as you can atleast get cashback with that

    SMR drive and price is not that great compared to when WD had selling ones for $228 (not SMR drive and not price error)

      Is there an 8tb WD available for $228 now? Surely not everyone requires an SMR drive and comparing this to the same product it's the cheapest that it's ever been.

        The 8TB WD Elements drives have been ~$225 for quite some time now. At least a few months.

        the 228 was for WD 10TB, not 8TB…

        SMR info is for people who weren't already aware of this

        SMR drives are the worst quality. In most cases Seagate 8TB archive drives are used in these. So not a good option if people want to shuck them. Why it's better to go for a 6 or 10TB if it's a Seagate desktop.
