$1471.08 after Cashrewards Cashback.

Microsoft is down to $1,599.00 on their store with their current 20% off EOFY promotion, add the increased 8% Cashback at cashrewards on Microsoft Surface Products and it beats out Harvey Norman by about $120.

Note, the Surface bundles as linked from Cashback's listing offer the laptop at a heightened $1,699.15, so it is better to buy the laptop alone unless you've your heart set on MS Office.

I pulled the trigger on the weekend too, Surface go @699 from MS, with 8% back, ($50), then 100$ amex voucher, $550 for a 128gb.
Got the type cover and pen and 128gb sd card from HN for 380, less $50 cashback. $880 total I though was pretty good for a portable.

  • i5 which cpu? 8250u?

is this a touch screen with pen?

    this or dell 2-in-1 7000 series 13inch i5-8265u 256ssd c/w pen under $1200?

      i5-8250U.

Surface products are all touch and always support a pen but never include a pen.

This is not a 2-in-1 so they don't really compare. If you're drawing, don't get this.

  • Do you mean Surface Laptop 2 or Surface Book 2?

    • +1

The Surface Book 2 that costs $1599 is only an i5 gen 7 with 128GB storage.

      The Surface Book 2 i5-8 256GB is $1897.

      • Ahhh ok missed the 256GB bit as when I clicked the link it went to the 128GB version.

Great Laptop, if you're grabbing one and travel a bit grab one of these while they're on sale as well.

    • There are a couple other (cheaper and less bulky) options if you've got a USB- C PD charger too!

      Something like this

      • They don't let you plug in a usb c thumb drive though, at the $110 the MS one was far too dear, at $60 It's a much better buy than it was. If just for charging then that cables the way to go.

Even better, I have one of these, can't remember if it was the same brand. Then have a USB-C PD charger with 2 extra UBS-A QC ports. I can charge my Surface Laptop, Mac, iPad and phones all with one charger.

      • Cheers, grabbed one as a backup

The discount has dropped to 15%, so the price is now $1698. However, if you talk to a Microsoft agent and send them a screenshot of the Harvey Norman page (which still shows $1599) they will match the price.

    • Pulled the trigger today,

After dialling support they have also let me know that I can claim the difference of any price drop I see on competitor sites for "a short period". I can imagine this is down to how much of a song and dance you're willing to make.

      • Can we still claim cashrewards this way?

        • Bit of a grey area, but I've had it work in the past. You can likely leverage price protection on your CC as well.
