  • Gawd. This Model is so old. Great price though.

    • Wait isn't this one the first wifi model?

  • Does this come with the box that sits outside the house?

    • -2

Omg seriously? Yes… Yes it does. Looking at between 500 to 650 for install.

      • +3

Haha, it was a genuine question!

    • +4

Yes, that's why it called Split System. There would be indoor and outdoor unit.

      • Any idea if you can just buy the indoor unit? We have old yellowed units indoors that look like they've been there 20 years. Work fine but it would be nice to have a smaller cleaner looking unit on the inside and just keep the compressor thing that we've got…

        • +4

Probably save a lot of power doing both in and out units. It's all designed for full changeover.

        • +1

          Paint it. I'm serious.

        • You do realise your condenser (outdoor unit) wouldn't be compatible given how old it is? It's likely using a completely different refrigerant compared to this Fujitsu, given newer air conditioners are switching to R-32 while older stuff usually ran on R-22 or R-410A. See more technical reasons here.

Just get a new split system, you'll save money and it'll cool/heat far better and more efficiently.

  • Just bought 2. Happy I didn’t buy them last month with the previous deal. Thanks OP

    • Can you get 2 EFTPOS cards if buy 2 in the same transaction?

      • +3

Reading from their t&c you can

But better buy separately because max discount with code only $200

        • @aan10 Thanks, bought 2 too…now to find installer in SA can do a reasonable price.

          • @POWERevolution: Let us know please, I'm in Adelaide too :)

          • @POWERevolution: I bought them from another seller on ebay with 15% off last year, then ended up going to good guys to get it installed.

It seems that the way it works is that each Good Guys store has a panel of installers and they contract them via a airtasker service. The ones that installed our unit were very professional, very accommodating and cleaned up after themselves after getting the job done. They were very good. I would definitely use them again (not via good guys of course)

I thought the price good guys charged was reasonable (considering they were willing to install customer supplied units). From memory it was $699

And remember, you can use any good guys gift cards to pay for the install!

      • I bought them separately, if you buy both together maximum $200 discount but separately $104.70 discount each.

  • Thanks OP!

  • I got the ASTG09KUCA off Bing Lee 2 months ago for $559 + $150 gift card. Anyone know the difference between it and this one (ASTG09KMCA)

    • yes i also want to know this info

      • +5

The difference between the 2 is that the KUCA model is the "Designer" Range while the KMCA is the "Lifestyle" Range. They essentially look different from one another. They are still the same capacity. Also the KUCA model has a moving panel at the front to make it look a bit more fancy. Hope this helped.

    • wasnt it $100? This would work out better. Also curious to know

    • +2

      https://www.fujitsugeneral.com.au/product/astg09kuca---2.5kw(c)-3.2kw(h)
      https://www.fujitsugeneral.com.au/product/astg09kmca---2.5kw(c)-3.2kw(h)

Supposedly the KMCA in this deal has Economy Mode & Blue Fin Heat Exchanger?

KMCA slightly quieter 40 vs 42DBA. KMCA weaker air circulation with 194 vs 222.

      • Thanks for the info re differences between units.

And the gift card was definitely $150, im not sure why the original deal from Bing Lee got edited back to $100. Its the same capacity unit as this one so same gift card.

Link to full product list with cashback amounts

        • +2

I also bought 3 units from that binglee deal. The guy who installed them for me said the whole front panel, which moves up when the unit is on, will more likely to break compare to the standrard indoor unit.
In regard to the gift card, the $100 is for the cooling only AC, not the inverter.

  • Who joined Ebay plus free trial just to get this?

  • +1

No surprise - quotes shipping price but doesn’t post to TAS once you add it to cart.

  • Thanks ordered

  • My local TGG has stock but are these not too heavy to be picked up by 1 person? I mean 1 item at a time of course. Trying to avoid $54 delivery

    • +1

      Yes, one person is fine.

      • Thanks mate

    • +1

As long as your car can fit, the guy at dispatch will load it onto your car. Most good guys store have separate warehouse entrance where they load and unload goods and you'll pick up bulky items from there, just park up and drive away

  • Wow this price is crazy

    • +1

And for a reasonable name brand too - not cheap Chinese ones like have been posted previously. This will be far more efficient on power too.

  • +3

Lesson learnt, next time install aircon during winter..

    • +1

I don't find its that much cheaper

      • It is for me in WA at least, bought the equivalent power Panasonic one for about $150 more and without Cashback. Apparently good guys also do in store promo for cheaper installation too. I couldn't stand the summer heat then, so couldn't bitch about it now.

  • Listing says get 15% with code then also says 'hurry expires 23/6' which is yesterday. Has it expired or not?

  • Bugger! Just paid $720 delivered at appliances online eBay after 15% code. Typical. I wonder what the odds are of them price matching post sale.

    • You can ask them to cancel and refund if it's not shipped yet. Remember this price will expire 10am 24/6

      • Thanks but it was delivered within 24hrs. Sitting here still in the boxes.

But AO price matched it anyway! Cheers

        • Wow. Good on you. And AO service is quite impressive. Well done.

        • Is it possible to you to give the approx measurement of the boxes? I am picking up from a store but would like to know if I need to borrow my parents car. Thanks.

          • @jcck: Not home at the moment. Try checking websites like appliance online for measurements?

          • @jcck: Just picked mine up.
            1st box inside unit approx. 34cm × 88cm × 27cm (weight 10.5kg)
            2nd box outside unit approx. 63cm × 93cm × 40cm (weight 37kg)

  • Is it possible to sign up for a second free eBay plus trial?

    • New eBay account?

  • Anyone know the dimensions of a room that this can warm up, i have a little office thats say 4 x 4 which will be perfect but have another room which is a family room….which is bigger

    • 3 x 3 ideal. But 4 x 4 is pushing it a little.

    • I know this is not ideal but how about in a living room which isn’t that big and I got it installed right in front of the couch. Even if it doesn’t cool the entire area will it atleast cool if I am on the couch?

I know I need a bigger unit but apparently that would mean getting a new fuse board board put in as apparently the current box with amps is a sufficient to run a 7.1kw system which is apparently what the area needs.

      • I would just go for it. I had one of these units installed into a small open living area and it works just fine. Aircon bloke was saying it was under powered and trying to sell me a larger unit

  • +1

Is this the sort of size/power that suits a bedroom? I am looking for one for a family/kitchen area that would be about 8m X 9m so guessing this would not be suitable?

    • I think this wouldn't be big enough for the family/kitchen room - go for something more like 5kW for that. For a medium bedroom it's more than adequate.

I use this in my master bedroom, but leave the door open and it blows out of the bedroom up the hallway, so that whole end of the house is warm. The idea wasn't to evenly heat all bedrooms/that end of the house, but to take the chill off that end of the house, and this has been working 100% at doing that.

    • This is overkill for a bedroom, even a master-size bedroom.

Because 2.5kW (cooling) is the smallest capacity split system most manufacturers make, I ended up putting one in my average-sized bedroom (3x3m) after getting fed up with a portable A/C unit that was far too loud and convoluted to use (with the exhaust hose and drip-tray). In summer I can barely run the new split system for more than 30 minutes even when the temperature differential is about 4-5C compared with outside air, before the room starts to feel freezing. I have to set it on the lowest fan speed possible, to make it tolerable. You can feel the cool air outside in the hallway and in the adjacent bathroom.

Your family/kitchen area would require something around 7kW at least, assuming it's all tiled, with not too many sunlight-facing windows. For instance, in my living/dining/kitchen area, which measures around 7x5m, I have an 8.5kW split system, which manages to cool that area plus the adjacent laundry and master bedroom quite well with the doors open. I only ever have to run it at medium fan speed, as anything more than that is excessive.

This link is the Fujitsu air conditioner room size calculator

    https://www.fujitsugeneral.com.au/residential-range/economat…

  • I hope Fujitsu has sorted out the issue with the front panel keeps dropping down. I bought 2 about 4 years ago and both had this problem. Though they replaced the panels under warranty. Still didn't give me much confident that they are going to last. Have ordered one to give them the benefit of the doubt since it is so cheap.

  • +1

Thanks, just ordered one for the bedroom. Now for a deal on a larger unit for my living room…

  • Thinking of having one for the bedroom as the ducting system isn’t zoned. Is it possible to plug this into a tp link adapter to make it more “smart”?

    • +2

Is that adaptor a wifi plug adaptor? If so, then no, because these units need to be hardwired to their own circuit.

But you could use something like this:
      https://www.gearbest.com/living-appliances/pp_357329.html

Connects to your wifi, and it send the remote signal to your A/C. Program it, or use your smart phone to switch on the A/C when you're on the way home.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered

Anyone can recommend a/c installer in melbourne? Especially south east suburb

    • Western Suburbs as well please.. while you are at it :)

      • I got an electrician to install mine for 500 cash. He's done other work on my property before such as switchboard upgrades, downlights installations, PowerPoint installs, and I'm very happy with his work. Melbourne Western suburbs.

    • Found Currentforce good with both service and price for installation. They're in Wattle Glen but tend to travel a fair bit.
      https://www.currentforce.com.au/contact-us/

    • Fernee air and electrical do good work at reasonable pricing.

      • How much the quote you got from them to install 2 air con?

    • Just got quote $1750 for 2 ac installation….

That cost almost twice for the unit price 😰….

      • If they were both on internal walls and complex installs might understand this but if a simple back to back …kick them to the curb.

    • Yes please. If anyone can recommend an installer around cranbourne area I'd really appreciate it.

  • hi

can i fit this in toyota yaris .
    thx

    • Yes, you can. Make sure you mount the outdoor unit to the side door though.

  • Damn I missed this deal. Now only harvey norman sells it at $698. Every one else has increased it. :(

    • I too am very annoyed I missed this deal too! :'(

  • +1

I am a installer , please Do not buy FUJITSU split system air con , because when it is running too much noise, better buy Mitsubishi Heavy Industries。 believe me , you will get disappointment, after you buy it.

    • Is this for all your client? Seems like in the review is a varies. Some people said they are noisy, some people dont. Is it installer faulty if that the case? Just wondering why the review varies….

Also do you need separate new circuit and new switch breaker for this 2.5kwh size? Or it can run using the power point electricity?

      • Depends on your circuit load. I have 4 splits in my place 2 on dedicated circuits as are big 10 KW units and 2 small splits that are wired in to separate existing circuits by way of a junction box. Wire is 2.5mm for the small units. You really should have a professional assess your particular circumstance though in case you burn your house down or worse. Not worth the risk to DIY for the sake of a couple of bucks.

        • I am getting airncon installer to do it. I am asking because guy A tell me he will install using the exisiting circuit for 2 air con 2.5kwh, the other guy B will only use 1 existing circuit and 1 separate new circuit breaker because it afraid it will trip the existing breaker if both of them in the same existing circuit breaker

Which is the right way to do it?

          • @aan10: a decent guy would install it on its own circuit, even though one of this unit only draw about 1000w, which is well below some of your appliance sharing the same circuit (washer, dishwasher and kettle) but it might trip if you decide to run both units together with a microwave and washer together. Guy A just be lazy, if you only have 1 unit installed then probably it will be safe but for 2 units its best to use separate circuit for them. Last time I had a guy installed, he put each unit in its own circuit, which was a bit overkill for these small 2.5kw units.

            • @lgacb08: So guy B is the better way to do it?
1 AC using the existing circuit same as power point, and other AC create new circuit. Is that right?

              • @aan10: yeah, guy B is decent, i wouldn't give money to a slacker want to put 2 aircon into your existing circuit, heck my house had a last century box ac and it even have its own circuit.

    • +1

I have 3 Fujitsu's installed at my home. A 9kw, 3.5kw & 2.5kw and ALL of them are perfectly quiet enough, especially in "quite" mode.
ANY air conditioner on High or Medium speeds are noisy.
I also have 1 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries 2.5kw and a 7kw Gree. On their lowest fan speed settings ALL of my air cons, no matter what brand, are very quiet. ALL are noisy on the highest setting.
If you don't want to hear your air conditioner on any speed I'd suggest you fork out for a ducted system.

  • Does anyone have trouble claiming the gift card. they keep sending me emails stating ''Ref. invalid''

    • +1

Did mine last night , no problem

      • What did you upload for bank receipt?

        • +1

          Paypal paymeny screenshot

          • @aan10: They have rejected my paypal screenshot

            • +1

@HashmiQureshi: Mine just approved and visa card is on the way

              • @aan10: Have you recieved yours yet? I'm still waiting on mine and it's been over a week already :(

                • @QuintessentiaLs: Received mine a week ago and have cash out the $300 from the atm no issue

    • I have an issue with mine saying the outdoor model with the S/N …. doesn't exist or is linked to an existing claim. I bought mine from TGG at Artarmon in NSW. I hope they haven't claim the cash back yet or I'll be really pissed and return the unit back.

      • Check if you have the outdoor unit S/no entered correctly- I had that same message until I had put the "E" in front of the numbers

      • All good, thanks.
