Looking for some advice please
I have a work phone IPhone 6 and I’m going on long service leave for 3 months
I don’t have a personal phone and I don’t want to have work emails or calls whilst I’m on leave
Can I get another SIM card to use in the phone as I don’t want to buy another phone.
If I can what would you recommend a pre paid is what I’m guessing, I will be in some remote areas
Thanks everyone
Sim Card for iPhone 6

Yes, you can get a SIM card from any telco and put it in your iPhone.
Will you be using the phone solely for phone calls/text messages or do you also need data?
Can you even get a service without data??
You can get pre-paid plan which doesn't include any data. It'll eat into your balance if you use any data though.
The reason I asked whether data was needed was to help with plan recommendations.
Yes just calls and sms. Not wanting data
Maybe Boost mobile?
Assuming it is unlocked, yes you can put in any sim card in.
Of course this won't stop work emails, you just need to remove the work email address from the mail app (alternatively just ignore any emails from work)Outback Australia is a bit hit and miss for reception on telcos.
Most would say Telstra has best overall coverage.
However as u drive out of ‘town’ all this means is that Optus will cut out at the town limits and Telstra will go another 20km ….. and for the next 250km u get nothing.
Hence some carry sat phone but crazy price on those.
But (for example) when we got to Glen Helen Gorge it had no Telstra and great Optus coverage for the 150mm radius around station. This type of spot coverage has become more prevalent has Optus goes for numbers of people and not acreage of coverage.
Could always get an Optus and a boost sim and use as available with a cheap second phone. Just do ur research before u leave coverage as u don’t know when u will get it again.
PS Telstra talk about blue spot Phones for better coverage but do I research!!!
Enjoy the journey
