Trying not to sound like a snob, although I like the NRL and would like very much to support them, their jerseys with main sponsors are just so tacky. Who wants to be walking around with Bryden's lawyers, Auswide bank, VB, all the betting companies and casinos emblazoned? I can't see how it is possible for my kids to be wearing a jersey with Crown casino or Ned's on it. I was lucky that due to the dismal show the Wallabies put on in 2018, I was able to grab a Qantas Wallabies jersey from the Asics outlet store in Harbour Town QLD for $50. It's just sad that NRL aren't able to garner enough corporate support due to their off-field issues.
Yeah it's not snobby to expect some integrity in the things that for things you pay for.
While I love a good beer shirt for myself, and am not too proud to share a XXXX or two, I'm not exactly keen on my kids rocking an 'official' jersey slathered with booze marketing.
Especially not for 90 bloody dollars each either.
