UPDATE: SALE EXTENDED UNTIL JULY 1ST

I've been eyeing TNF Nuptse 1996 Retro for a while now and finally bit the bullet, been using a Kathmandu Epiq Down Jacket for the last 2 years.

Site shows $334.80 but comes down to $284~ after applying the code which gives an extra 15% Off. Retail $400.

5.60% Cashback available through Cashrewards Brings price down to $270~

Women's Sizes available at the same price.

This won't be a deal for everyone as it is a lot of money to spend on a jacket, but I hope it will benefit at least some.

Product Description
Inspired by the iconic design lines of our 1996 Nuptse Jacket, this boxy puffer jacket provides lofty warmth with deep baffles that are stuffed with 700-fill goose down insulation. Stow the hood in the collar when you're warm enough without it, and stow the whole jacket in a pocket when you can go completely without.

You'll loook like the Michelin tyre mascot wearing that thing.

And be very warm while doing so.

Would be so funny if you had to change one of your tyres on the side of the road while wearing that jacket.

Look like a Michelin Tyre or freeze? your choice

      • Those are my only two options?

    • You aren’t wrong. These are the 90s fit so much more of the Michelin man look than the current more fitted design. There’s a reason rappers used to call them bubblegooses.

  • Thanks for posting dude was waiting for a sale on this, enough of a deal for me to pull the trigger but no size s :(

    • I'm also a Size S, the sale started yesterday but my size was unavailable, come into Stock today. Be hopeful :). Sale is on until 24/06

      • Hopefully they restock again, I’ve signed up for notifications. Fingers crossed

  • Read that these fit one size big. Can anyone that owns one confirm this?

    • +2

I've got the Nuptse 2 jacket in size S and I'm generally a size M in most things

    • Can confirm

    • They’re a throwback to the 90s fit which was much boxier than the current fit. These won’t be to everyone’s taste.

    • Most things The North Face are a size big because they are US sizing.

Puffer jackets are never really cheap. Even a budget brand like Uniqlo has puffer jackets that retail for about $250.

I think another reason why this costs more is to cover the cost of that 700-fill down insulation.

I didn't get this jacket but it looks like your STAY15 coupon works on other items in the store too. I haven't seen this coupon on OzB. So thanks for sharing ;-)

    • Agreed on this, But there are sales now also at Uniqlo. They come down to 100 or so

    • +1

Also North Face sources ethical down, whereas Uniqlo and others might not. Drives up the price but makes me feel a little better about wearing animal products for sure.

This jacket forms a major part of the "Melbourne uniform".

  • These are more 'urban puffers' than truly 'outdoors' ones. That said, good value for $284…

  • I thought they restocked the non-XXL sizes for a moment but it was my phone loading :’(

  • Sheesh. When did 1996 become 'retro'? Thanks for reminding me how old I am. :-/

    • Mate it’s almost 25 years ago. People were calling 80s stuff retro in the 90s.

      • +1

Yeah, I know. It's just scary when you realise your own children are older than that.

  • what is the code for extra 15% off?

  • Am I the only one who reads this as nutpurse at first glance?
