You can't (at least not easily)
      SMLoadr is way easier

If you're using a android phone, windows or mac, you could use youtube-dl. It can be found on GitHub. It's a terminal downloader.

I'm in no way encouraging downloading videos that isn't yours or to do anything illegal but what you do in your space time is your business :)

Of course also don't forget the "India hack" posted back in March for those wanting a more permanent discounted YouTube Premium (Inc Google Music & YouTube Music) subscription.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/444144

It's likely the best AUD$2.6x I spend each month.

I second this. For less than the price of a coffee a month it's no contest. Ad-free youtube and GPM subscription (still the only one I can add my own collection of songs to as well as search/play).
Edit: Indian family subscription is $0.84 a month

      • Keen to pay $1 a mth to someone who sets one up. I'm sure you'd find four others, making it free for whoever does the leg work

        • I'm already in a family (paying $2/month like a newbie) otherwise I would definitely set one up!

And we pay $12 a month because…. We're dumbasses that can be ripped off like that. Awesome

Probably cause of the difference in minimum wage…

          Music is music.

Ferrari doesn't sell cheap cars in Democratic Republic of Congo because they're the poorest country in the world to help them afford it.

          • +3

@lostn: And Ferrari is Ferrari. They're not targeting the same population. YouTube wants everyone to have a subscription more than Ferrari wants everyone to own one of their cars.

My point was that if someone's making $4/hour, there's a higher chance of that person getting a $2/month subscription than one that costs $12/month. Now, Netflix may be an exception because it costs ~$7 USD/month there, pretty close to the equivalent plan in the US that costs $9/month. I'm no economist but that's probably because there is no legitimate and "easy" way to get Netflix exclusive shows, whereas with Music, you can go on YouTube and search for any song 'for free'.

            • @[Deactivated]: So what does Youtube charge in Norway, the highest income earners in the world?

              • +2

@lostn: Used a VPN to connect to a Norway server and it says 99 NOK for YT Music Premium ($16.57 AUD if you use Google to convert it, not sure where they get their exchange rate from)

And 119 NOK for YT Premium ($19.92 AUD) vs 15 AUD here. Sounds about right. It is slightly more expensive.

Is it the same percentage when compared to their minimum wage? No, but it is more than what we're paying, when converted.

      • We're dumbasses that can be ripped off

    YouTube vanced/newpipe > this garbage

    • Checkout ymusic too

    • -1

What's garbage is shafting artists/service providers even more than the already are.

  • Youtube music doesnt have widget.. seriously google, how hard can it be..
And also, it closes if left idle for a while..

Does youtube vanced have widget at least?

    • Nope, none of the YouTube apps (including Vanced) have a widget.

  • YouTube Vanced for life, runs beautifully on my S10+

  • Where does it say 90 days? On my end, it just says one month free.

  • No month free -once i signed in 😯

Think i had a free sub last time it posted on ozb…

  • Cheers OP. Mine also says 1 month free trial, how do you get 90 days? (Never sub’d YouTube premium before)

  • Any way to export your liked songs and playlists after the trial ends to another email account? Also I thought youtube vanced was for videos? Is there anything similar for youtube music?

  • I'm fairly disappointed with the variety of Youtube music - I've gone through the process of subscribing to a load of artists yet my random play keeps serving up a very limited subset of the same songs? I gathered YTM would learn from the artists subscribed and play a range of songs from them plus other similar artists I might be interested in. Correct me if I'm wrong
