Bose QC35ii Volume Is Too Low

So bought those a couple of weeks ago and even though the volume is max on my phone and noise cancelling is set to high, what I hear sounds like medium and I'd like the volume up a little notch.

Is this normal? Or shall I head for a swap at JB hi-fi or to the Sony?

  • Sounds faulty, I've never had my Sony's turned up to maximum.

did you turn it up to eleven?
    .

  • Difficult question to answer since volume is a very personal thing. But the QC35's are definitely not a loud headphone. So not sure what your personal tastes are like but they are not designed to be a head banging headphone.

Try different content from a different device, see if that makes a difference.

Yours could be faulty if they are really quiet.

  • I just updated the firmware (again). Still the same.

Looked online, I am not the only one complaining of low volume. Its subjective, but its low enough for me to be able to still hear whats going on around me. People talking or other background noise.

    Off to JB I go.

    Thank you all.

    • Yeah thats not normal..

  • Had any hearing issues in general?

It might sound dumb, but have you adjusted the volume to max on the headset too?

    • No you are right. I have yeah.

  • I noticed the Bose had lower volume compared to the Sony when I tested it at JBHIFI. I picked bose with comfort over the sound level of Sony because I would never have it all the way up. That's not to say the Bose level isn't loud. I've never had it all the way up.

It's faulty or you're deaf, one or the other.

    Better for your ears.

Replaced. Headphones were faulty. JB hi-fi were pretty cool about it and swap on the spot.

    • Hi mate, a few years later, just wanted to ask you if after replacing them they now sound loud enough like you wanted, cheers

      • Still going strong!
