Electrolux 8.5kg Front Loader Washer $556 Pickup @ The Good Guys eBay

170
PGOODGUYS

Was looking to buy a washer of a decent size and found this one - 8.5kg for this price seems pretty good. Has some great features like being able to pause while it is filling (if the water is below the door level) to add a garment. 5 energy star rating and 4.5 star water rating.

  • Only 2 year warranty on the Electrolux from what I could find when looking last month. Most others at least have 10 years on the inverter motor

    • +1

I have a Electrolux EWF14933 and that has a 10 year motor warranty. No idea about this one through.

    • You do realise why most makers offer a 10 years motor warranty ?

Are you planning to tell us just asking?

        • Username checks out 😀

        • They say 10 years warranty for 2 reasons

          1 they very rarely fail
          2 it’s marketing

Ooooh look this has a 10 year warranty

Which btw is only for the motor and for parts only

  • Out of stock for entire of SA?? Is TGG deliberately removing stock from eBay store?

  • I've heard of problems with Electrolux washers that refuse to spin because the machine sensor thinks the machine can't 'balance' the load and doesn't spin to protect the machine.

Has anybody else seen or heard of this issue?

  • Had an earlier model Electrolux front loader, which has since been passed to another home. About 9 years and still no issues.

    • Same here with my previous Electrolux washer.

They are made in Thailand these days and weigh about half what the old models did. Must be quite a few plastic parts inside that previously would have be metal.

    • Yep had ours for 8 years then the CPU started spazzing out.

Have had a whirlpool less than a year now and the front is already rusting. Hopefully it keeps working for years to come regardless of its appearance….

      • Isn't it still under warranty? Even if not, your consumer rights mean you should be able to expect it to not deteriorate so quickly. Call the Customer service up and complain. Don't give up.
