Odd name for an app that's for all sports and not just cricket

Also all it does is just show you the schedule for games? No scores or news or anything else? I could already do that with Google Calendar

    • There are a few big takeaways / advantages over using a calendar:

      • The app finds the feed for you, you don't need to populate it. There are some services that will populate a calendar, but from what we could tell it wasn't easy to filter

      • Wicket is all about "Getting you to the game". There are heaps of apps that deal with stats, but the focus of wicket is when an event is on, and how you can watch it / participate. The next thing we are adding in is where you can watch event at a pub etc. Of course we have big plans up our sleeve, but keeping it limited in scope makes it simple to use.

  • Actually looks like a good app. Thanks.

They should have named this the neglected girlfriend app

  • No Tennis?

    • Tennis is on the way, just having some trouble with the data feed.

The next big thing we are adding is where to find live sports to watch near you, then we will round back to fleshing out the sports.

  • Where do you apply the code? For iOS?

I am on the Android version. I could not find a place to enter the code until I set a reminder.

Open the app and set up a sport (I chose team Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup). A list of upcoming matches will be shown. Tap "Remind Me" and the app will say reminder is a premium feature. There should now be a menu selection to enter a unlock code.

Please report back if this is also working in the iOS version.

      • Correct it worked. Thanks. Didn't think about to tap the reminder option I was too busy playing with the settings trying to find where to put the code.

Thank you for reporting back. I have added the steps to the deal.

    • Thanks @alvian worked a treat thanks

  • If you are on Android device Google will remind you by default.

    • Yeah we saw that, but the reminders are at Google's discretion. Plus we provide broadcast info and soon to be adding where you can watch a game locally.

  • Wicket App…great app! Was just adding all the teams I follow and didn’t see New York Rangers in the NHL list?

    • Yep - we are working on the data feeds. Because the NHL just finished, and the way we pull down the teams, there are some sports that we can't add (because they are off season) and we cleaned up the database right at the end of the NHL. I don't follow it myself, but were the New York Rangers knocked out early this year? If so they might have missed the cut, but they will be back in with plenty of time for next season.

      • They didn't make the playoffs but only 16 teams make it into that. Their last game was on April 6th and the playoffs started on April 10th. I'm sure you'll have it all sorted by the start of the season. Again, great work!

  • Great app! Feedback for Android version, it should detect the current time and remove past games. Thanks

    • It does - but it keeps events from midnight the night before just in case you wanted to check when something started. If it nixed the event as soon as it began you might think it didn't have the listing (the first iteration showed nothing in the past!)

Great app from what I can see - no issues from what I can see and it is simple to navigate. Shared it with family who also follow sports c:

    • Awesome! thanks mate

  • FYI unlock by promo code does not survive re-installation.

  • Hi :)
I selected my footy team (not soccer) then my NRL team when I installed the app. Looked really good.
Then I accidentally clicked ‘All NRL’ when I was playing around with it some more- and now it won’t remove the extra NRL games?
I tried unchecking All and reselecting just the Dragons, but the schedule remained the same- so I went back to the sports and All NRL was selected again (?). So I deselected all NRL selections, then went back to schedule- still all there :/
I also quit and reopened the app, but same thing. I’m sure it’s something obvious that I’m doing something wrong?
