Kelloggs Nutri-Grain 1.2kg $3.89 ($0.32/100g) @ Costco (Membership Required)

230

When it comes to buying healthy breakfast items, I'm a cereal offender. When this 4 star health-rated beauty is on special at at Coles/Woolies, it's usually DOUBLE the price of this absolute bargain at Costco! I think this may be the cheapest price I've ever seen it.
Being so high in protein, it's a great way for vegans to replenish their reserves - just one (1.2kg) bowl of this stuff is equal to almost 14kg of spinach. Unleash your inner ironman/ironwoman.

Not sure if in support of, or insult. lol

    • Who cares! It's true.

      • Nutri-Grain is more than one quarter sugar by mass. I consider it confectionery.

        • Nutri-Grain does not involve the intentional captivity of animals, the exploitation of their reproductive systems, the killing of their children and the collecting of their bodily fluids. It is also adequately nutritious for a meal. I consider your opinion less weighty.

          • @fantombloo: Pretty sure the vast majority of Nutri-Grain consumers eat it with milk.

@Scrooge McDuck: The vast majority of 1950s Australians supported the White Australia policy. I'm not sure what your point is.

  • Good find and great price. Bought 4 packs yesterday.

Just be careful because it contains an insane amount of sugar

I would have thought Costco would be selling 12kg boxes…

  • "Healthy" LOL

    • Better than most other cereals, well kids at least eat this. I rather they eat this than coco pops or fruit loops!

      • They'll eat whatever you buy at the supermarket and put in the cupboard.

My 3yr old loves plain oats in milk or muesli with yoghurt, or kids weetbix in milk without anything sugary.

Kellogg's cereals are rubbish, all either high in sugar or salt.

Am I the odd one out here or is 1.2kg of Nutri-Grain considered a rather large serving size for brekkie?

A fun experiment - crush up a bunch of Nutri Grain and bring a strong magnet nearby. You'll be able to attract the iron filings they put into the cereal to boost the iron content.
