If you buy the Boost 12-month $150 recharge ($12.50 p/m), you get 1200 minutes to Sri Lanka a month, as well as the usual inclusions (unlimited local calls, 80GB data overall / ~6.7GB a month).
Phone cards… now that's a phrase I haven't heard in a long time.
No Whatsapp? Not even Viber? Or Imo?
I expect most people in Lanka to have a decent smartphone by now, even to call through Viber. Plus companies like Airtel offer pretty good packages so much easier to call through internet (and reload data) than just buying a phone card from here. Also most of these phone cards have limited time, and Lanka is mostly covered in 3G LTE coverage (soon to be fully capable of handling 4G in most places), better to use Whatsapp/Viber/Imo to call them if you can.
