How Much Should a Bond Clean Cost?

Just got quoted $52O for a bond clean. 2 bed apartment with 1 bath.
Place has carpet too.
Is this normal, seems high.
This is on the gold coast

    $0 to do it yourself.

    • Not exactly - cleaning supplies will cost something.

Also, if the OPs quote includes carpet steam cleaning, but you ask the cleaner to skip that, which can save ~$100-$150.

  • Definitely should be less than 400, though probably paying a premium because it's the GC.

Nothing stopping you getting a couple of quotes.

You can get a few quotes to be sure of the market price, but I personally recommend using the real estate's recommended cleaner to save any fuss later.

    • using the real estate's recommended cleaner

The REA adds their fees on top of the cleaners bill.

    2 people
    4 hours each
    $40/hr pp
    =$320

    carpet clean $150

    =$470

    • Seems reasonable if the two people are very efficient and have results to match.

When getting quotes don't say its for a bond clean out. Some will put a mark up on it. Just say you want a good clean.

bond clean quote often guarantees bond back else comeback re-clean at no cost

      watch out for T&C though

  • $450

    Dafuq is $52O?

    • $52 and an orange

    • Omani Rials?

    • Haha is what my brain wrong with

  • DIY for free might not be possible if it's through an agent/landlord that requires a carpet cleaning receipt or similar.

  • I paid $210 for a 2bdrm 2bath including carpet steam cleaning - found the company on serviceseeking.com.au

Definitely get a few more quotes

    • How does that work. They skipped something.

      • Was 2 people 3hrs total, so what $35 an hour per person?

Guess no extra charge for the carpet cleaning - only the bedrooms were carpeted though which probably makes a difference

Or lowballing to get their reviews up

  • I asked a colleague who recently moved and he advised to get at least 3 quotes and preferably go with personal recommendations as quality of end-of-lease cleaning varies so much.

Also suggested being specific as to what you need cleaned ie. oven, windows, inside cabinets/wardrobes, steam cleaning carpets, etc are usually completed at extra cost.

  • I recently vacated a 3 bedroom house in Victoria and paid about $400 for a full bond clean including carpet steam cleaning, pressure cleaning of windows and lawn mowing. Put a job up on hipages.com.au and see the responses.

  • Airtasker, then sift through the offers, check their experience and reviews, should definitely get offered less than $350.
