I'm after a way that I can be alerted when a new bargain is receiving excessive votes and comments (New post). Has anyone thought of this? I'm not after a specific item or category. Just after a way to not miss out on those deals which expire/outofstock <1hr.

I thought we were all committed to looking through every deal that is posted, and determining if it is truly a bargain or not; voicing an opinion, asking a question, etc.
If we all took this approach, nothing would make it to the front page.
There's roughly 90 deals posted since midnight and my front page has 14 deals for today so far.
May well be great deal in there that only few people got and expired but never made to front page, think that what OP after.
I guess the front page is a way but its might already be expired or out of stock once it hits. Having an algorithm that notifies when a bargain receives a set amount of up votes and comments in a set period of time is what I am after.
You can set the minimum votes required to reach the front page (for you) and when it reaches that amount, you'll be notified if subscribed to front page deals. This will do what you want but it will obviously also include deals that took longer to reach the minimum votes.
No way mate, not the easy way out! If you want that free $5 woolies gift card you gotta earn it by being on the streetz at the right time like the rest of us. Life's hard out here, feast or famine!
Haha, I doubt I'm the only one just considering this now… People have already set this up for sure.
