Help - Internet hosting service urgently needed

I just found out that the company providing my internet hosting (email/web serving) has folded. For the moment it's still online but I don't expect that to last long.

So I need to find another one, and get my domains transferred, fast. No time for the usual painstaking research!

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, reliable one? My site/email is low volume so I don't need blistering performance, a huge data allowance or (necessarily) an Australian location, but I'd prefer something not too snail-like with Python support (I'm planning to do some Django) and the ability to show up in AU google's "search in Australia".

Cheers for any suggestions.

    • Thanks mate but that seems to be for ISPs, not people providing hosting services.

  • Hi

Came across your post by chance, and I'm happy to help you right now, but I'm not sure of the rules here.

  • VENTRAIP! Especially 'Deal of the decade'. Love these guys! Not the cheapest…but VERY price efficient for service/reliability!

    • +1

yeah i use them and find them to be quite good

  • I've used Lunarpages for many years, they have been good for a cheapy host.

The Basic package is $6.95 per month (2 year plan) or $4.95 for 5 years, and I run a number of domains, some small forums and all my mail through it. Never had any dramas, no downtime that I've noticed.

You have a full Cpanel, unlimited domains, subdomains (but NOT subdomains of add-on domains), unlimited email, webmail, PHP, Perl, Python, SSI, etc.

I've also found that they have very good customer service.

As for google's "search in Australia" - I have no idea how that works by default, but you can easily set it so that Google will show a US hosted site as "Australian"…

  • Thanks everyone, I'm looking at all of them, and Michael I just sent you an email with some questions.
