I have one of these and have a number of Garmin devices. I would not recommend these scales.
Why so? I have these scales and works flawlessly with Garmin connect.

Yes. Other than its connectivity to Garmin, it's still a normal scale.
I can't see why I would spend so much money buying this type of scale
There is no way to get weight data into garmin connect otherwise, other than manually entering it. Its super good if you want to track your weight without remembering to enter it into the app
In the past I was using the FitBit Aria Scales, and then using "MyFitnessPal" app. It was able to sync the fitbit data to that app, and then it was able to sync to Garmin connect.
You just needed to make sure "MyFitnessPal" was connected to both your fitbit account and Gamin connect.
Only issue is this stopped last week, so not sure if its an issue on my end or theirs.
i have one and a fenix 5 and an edge bike computer. i like the fact its all interlinked.
