is this a good choice for making baby food puree? it will be for boiled vegetables or fruit.
Yeah it should be fine, we used a cheap kmart bottle blender which was much smaller and had less blades and even that did a fine job. Boiling the veggies softens them up so much they go to mush even just being handled really.

For those who have one. How "variable" is the speed knob - are there many speeds or just 2 or 3?
Does it gulp air?
The speed knob doesn’t have any numbers on it, it just goes from minimum to maximum, so you can choose how fast you want it. There is also a pulse function. I haven’t really noticed it gulp air atm

Are the parts easy to wash?
I bought a $50 Kambrook one and there are like 8 parts (lids, glass, rubber rings, gaskets, etc) to wash after every use, kinda put me off. It says not suitable for dishwasher.
