Philips Hue Motion Sensor $39.20 Free Click & Collect or + Delivery @ Bing Lee eBay

70
PONG20

For those already invested with the Philips Hue ecosystem, as the name says, it's a motion sensor which when triggered can turn lights on.

With 20% off, this comes down to $39.20 with free pick up at Bing Lee stores. It's pretty much the cheapest it has been in a while especially from a known retailer although there are a couple of other eBay sellers (not necessarily as well known) who are now offering it for the same price.

For those who don't mind buying from lesser known eBay sellers and want free delivery, there's a seller called "just pawn it" offering it for the same $39.20 delivered ($31 + $8.20 for my location in Sydney) > https://www.ebay.com.au/p/Philips-Hue-Smart-Wireless-Motion-… .

    • Thanks mate, I bought both of them, great price :)

      • I thought so too. I can’t wait to have automatic lights when I stumble through the house at night! Was tempted to buy two but couldn’t think where I would put a second one!

  • Amazon has it for $45.2 prime delivered. Cheaper for me rather than paying delivery.

  • Do you need the bridge to use these?

    EDIT: Duh, I should've read your description…

Actually, you can use it without the bridge, BUT it seems to only allow one accessory attached to a bulb, so you can't have a dimmer and the motion sensor attached to one bulb without the bridge. If you do attach it to a bulb and then add a bridge later, you need to reset the bulb, which requires a dimmer.
There's a YouTube video showing where you need to shove paperclips to connect without a bridge, the reset spot and the T spot (a TP-link?).

      • Thanks for the info.

  • Managed to pickup a while back on Amazon Au for $37.90 when they had a Philips sale on.

As an example for this thing's awesomeness….
I have 1 of these in the hallway. I have programmed it (through the app) to turn on the Hue hallway light for 1 minute when motion is detected and then slowly fade off.
5pm-9pm at 70% brightness. 9pm-7am at 30% brightness and warm.

  • The BingLee website shows the sensors and switches in stock at my local BingLee store, however the Ebay site says they are out of stock and wont allow click and collect and require additional postage. Well thats a few hundred dollar sale they missed out on.

    • Just pay the extra for delivery ya tight ass.

      • lol nah, it's $45.20 with the postage added on so it's not much of a saving. I've got several sensors which i picked up all for around the $37 mark.

Their eBay inventory management and listings is stupid. In Jan we ordered an oven that was on their store but not at the local one. We contacted support and they allowed us to place an order selecting their central warehouse as the pickup location and in the comments for the order we noted we wanted it transferred to the Canberra store. Item was in Canberra about 3 days later and we didn’t have to pay shipping for that store transfer.

Message them on eBay and ask if they can arrange a similar transfer for you. From memory they also instructed me to change my accounts postcode to inner sydney temporarily as eBay for their store wouldn’t allow selecting click and collect if I was in a different state, which I needed to do to pick their central warehouse.

Alternatively call your local store and see if they’ll price match their eBay price.

  • Can I connect this to Genio light by Mirabella?

  • I got 2 of these early in the week from Bunnings price beat from the David Jones deals paid around $33.00 each
