I have created search alerts under subscriptions > events, but for some reason these are never triggered. When I click through on the search query, I can often see new items, but the "Last Alert" column shows "Never" and I never receive e-mails. What am I doing wrong?

Your 2 queries don't contain any keyword/search query.
For your first query please remove "tag:" from the beginning and it will work (you'll get an email every time that word is mentioned in a deal).
For your second query, please delete it and subscribe to the store instead to be alerted when a deal is posted for that store.

This. Also I've tried deleting the search alert and re-creating it. No difference.
I won't list your search alerts out of privacy as this is a public post.
However for your second search alert, the problem is that it's missing a keyword. For search alerts, you need to have at least one keyword. You can't just filter tags but not have anything to search for. For example if I was looking for a Google Pixel 3, "tag:google-pixel-3" won't work, but "pixel tag:google-pixel-3" will work, with pixel being the keyword.
Your fourth search alert is fine, it just hasn't been triggered yet.
Your firth search alert looks fine but it should have triggered yesterday, not sure what the issue is there.

@brisdaz: I've asked admins to look into it further now, we discussed it Monday but couldn't see the issue, might need to do some testing.
