  • How do these compare to the corsair vengeance deal recently

    • Same timings so get the cheapest. No point overspending on DDR4-3000.

nice. a ram kit thats not rgb.

If you are thinking of getting 32GB this works out a bit cheaper. G.SKILL Sniper X 32GB $226

    • Wow, significantly cheaper. I wish I had this option, when I was purchasing ram 8 months ago. Nice deal.

  • Anyone able to tell me their experiences with Newegg? I haven't tried them before, heard horrifying things about their support and issues with RMA and DOA problems. Thanks

Apart from appalling processing and delivery times, terrible support they seem ok. I think of them like MSY, you would never choose to shop their if you can find a similar price elsewhere, but sometimes the deals are too good to pass up.

      • Bang on

  • Dat camo

I wish they'd show a picture of the RAM, all I see is a blank picture

Any ideas how this would work with a Ryzen 5 2600? Sorry if dumb question, new to PC building :P

Whilst ryzen is more compatible than first gen, you really need to check your memory is on your motherboards memory support list to avoid any potential issues. Check the manufacturers website.

    • The 2600 officially supports 2933MHz, so these sticks should work fine.

      • I have a feeling you have never had a Ryzen system and dealt with memory incompatibility. There are NOTORIOUSLY a PITA with memory not tested and supported by the manufacturer. Google it.

        • I've had a 2600 and B450 Tomahawk, which I used generic Hynix AFR RAM on without any issues. I've also managed to overclock it to 3333MHz fully stable.

          • @integral: Congratulations.

            You are one person.

That is no way negates the thousands of posts of others who have suffered memory incompatibility issues.

            • @Typical16-bitEnjoyer: You do know people only complain when they have issues?

The people who don't have issues don't bother, so it really misrepresents the memory incompatibility issue.

Memory manufacturers can swap out ICs on the same model, depending on what's available at the time, so the QVL isn't the be all and end all.

You can (and should) wipe your ass with the QVL list.
Most of the DRAM manufacturers change the ICs used in the modules between the batches (i.e. use whatever meets the specs and is the cheapest / most convinient at the time), which renders the QVL useless anyway.

~ The Stilt (guru of AMD hardware).

The memory incompatibility issues may have been prevalent during the launch of Ryzen 1000, but nowadays it's a non-issue thanks to AMD's constant AGESA updates.

  • Damn. Any deals on the 287-pin version?
