Car Modifications (Sydney): Respray/Dent Removal and Upholstery

I have a Peugeot 306 gti6 and am looking to:

(Exterior - black, 2 door hatch)
- fix a number of small to medium dents
- paint plastic exterior parts
- possibly smooth the side bump strips, bumper lines
- possibly full respray

(Interior - currently black/alcantara seats, grey roof lining/pillars)
- either reupholster door cards
- or full interior in leather

I am looking for a panel beater either in the St George, Sutherland, or Northern Beaches areas (I live south and work north). Prices I've been given so far are about $500 to fix the left side of the car which has the main dents or $2500 - 4500 for a full dent repair and respray in the same black colour.

Also, need an upholsterer in the above areas to offer a few options already mentioned.

I have the money to spend, however, I'm a bargain whore and want a good price. (I know you can't skimp too much on these type of things and quality is important, but I can always dream for a bargain!)
Thank you!

  • Any possibility you might be able to find a 306 wreck at the auctions with what you want, transfer the interior parts over (most wreckers want motors/gearboxes). Then sell it to a wrecker. As well as getting PDR?

Though…what your asking is moving over into the realm of custom body work, i.e. Queen St Smash

  • Sounds like over capitalising, but to each their own

  • Since these are older cars auctions will only have used interiors, which are worn. The main things are the dents and doorcards. Everything would be nice, just seeing what sort of deal I could get for doing the extras.

    • Interior leather re-trim will have to go to a re-trimmer, the rest to a custom bodyshop.

Unless they are really competing, prices/quality will obviously vary. Go onto a few forums and see who people recommend, that's all I can really say. You'll have to do the legwork yourself.

When it comes to cars, we usually know who does brilliant work…and it's not usually cheap. We don't shop for the cheapest prices. It's up to you to do that.

(If this doesn't make sense I just woke up)
