Nokia 3 Getting Pie Update. What's People's Experience with Pie Vs Oreo?

So Nokia have an update to Android Pie (and I only just upgraded to Oreo).

Was really impressed with the Oreo update (apart from a screech noise when unlocking phone with wifi connected). Battery life seems better, and the UI is much more intuitive.
I don't really like the app button shapes, but using Nova Prime in classic mode anyway.

So any compatibility issues with Pie?

Do I need to wipe my entire phone and start from scratch (to ensure I don't lose several GB's of space)? This was the case with Oreo. The install files remained. I did a full wipe and got all the space back, but it was a PITA.

  Updated on Moto G6 that I've had for a month. I usually don't update my phone if it's working alright, but the full screen pop-up nags to update drove me crazy!

  After the update, my music player kept pausing randomly and I couldn't install anything from the play store. I reformatted it and it seems to be okay now, but if you can stay on Oreo I wouldn't risk the update.

  Not sure about Nova compatibility but my Smart Launcher seems fine.
