[Switch] Nintendo Labo VR Kit Starter Pack $49 @ Target

120

Good deal IMO - usually goes for $59 at other retailers. I bought one by price matching at BIG W.

I think its a good enough price entry point to scratch the itch to see what the fuss is about on Zelda BOTW, Mario Oddesey and Smash Ultimate VR game modes at the very least. There is also the VR customisation game mode in there too for those interested.

Can't comment on the VR garage thing as I never got into it, but

Zelda VR is cool but if you're not really that big on Zelda, it's no better in VR.
Mario VR is just a couple of fun little mini level things, no more than 20 odd minutes content before you're replaying.
Smash VR I have no idea as I don't own or care about Smash, but if it's the whole thing, it might be the best one.

However, the little VR shooter game included with the kit is honestly worth it alone for me. The thing is surprisingly fun for what's basically just a tech demo. VR tracking is very good, visuals are better than I thought they'd be, and cocking the little cardboard shotgun is pretty bloody satisfying.

For 50 bones, I'd say get it for the fun of it and the little included demos / games. But I wouldn't buy it for Zelda or Mario in VR. If Mario Kart makes the jump over, that'd be pretty sick. Especially since even the 3DS version had a first person mode, not too crazy of an ask, hell, I've bought Mario Kart 8 three times at this point.

      Agreed.

I'm case anyone is wondering, this starter kit comes with ALL of the vr games, you only need to buy the extra cardboard kits separately.

Well worth it for the VR novelty of the shooter games.

The pump Action gun adds an extra dimension that is lacking from any other VR system.
