iPad Pro 10.5 Smart Keyboard $147 C&C @ David Jones

220

Retails for $235 pretty much everywhere. Great for those who recently picked up a 2017 10.5 iPad Pro (now that they have come down in price a fair bit). I believe this Keyboard is also compatible with the 2019 iPad Air since it’s virtually identical (except for the extra speakers). Credit to Pricehipster (I set an alert at $199 and was surprised it had come done this much in price). The 12.9 Pro Smart Keyboard is also on sale at the same price.

I’ve always used Logitech Keyboard cases for my previous iPads but their version for the iPad Pro is simply too bulky (and expensive). This keyboard connects to and gets its power from the smart connector, so no Bluetooth lag. It’s super slim and stylish.

I’ve matched it with this $16 Amazon case to give it a bit more protection. The keyboard and the case go very well together!

  • Very little stock around

  • Thanks bought one price matched at officeworks

  • Damn, the amazon case is only available for $16 in clear :/

    • Very happy with the clear, goes nicely with the Smart Keyboard.

  • Thanks OP, price matched with OW.

  • I bet most Officeworks will refuse to price match since almost no stock is available.

    • Is click&collect from DJs not an option for you?

      • The closest shop with stock is 700+ km away from me.
        Technically it’s an option.
But my price matching experience with Officeworks was always difficult.

  • Damn, bought one from Apple after checking JBHiFi prices just a week ago… Paid full price :'(

    • +1

Apple have 14 day returns, no questions asked.

      • Cool thanks! I price matched at Officeworks. Noice!

  • Thanks op… Been searching for a cheaper keyboard option but there's nothing that's any good… Got it price matched at officework with no fuss… With there's a special on the pencil as well…

  • Was going to buy one but it has some pretty bad ratings and reviews on Apple's own website.

For. Product in their Pro like, the quality is unacceptable. The keyboard works intermittently after only a year of use, and is otherwise in mint condition.

Had it 18 mo. It hardly connects anymore and the magnetic part now has no rubber protection, so the side of my iPad is totally etched. Just found out that the 9.7 and the 12.9 have extensions to their warranty and the 10.5 doesn’t. So ridiculous as they are all made the same and the ALL FAIL!!!!!! Do no buy. Terrible waste of money but also terrible for the environment as it’s basically a disposable keyboard. Shame Apple.

I enjoyed my smart keyboard while it worked. After 18 months my iPad stopped recognizing the smart keyboard and the on-screen keyboard would pop up instead. Apple could not repair and would not offer a replacement because it was past the 1 year warranty. Now my iPad Pro is no longer a laptop replacement, and I am hesitant to spend another $160 on a keyboard with such poor durability. Very frustrating.

    • Some of these reviews seem to be related to pulling off the keyboard and putting it back on. I plan on having mine connected permanently. Another complaint in these reviews relates to the limited protection it offers, which is why I suggested spending the extra $16 on a proper case. Apple reviews are pretty bad for most accessories and add ons, I’ve never had a real (warranty) problem with any Apple product I’ve purchased. Having said that, I’d be really disappointed if a keyboard at this price won’t last 3 years at least.

  • Wish there was more stock!! Really want one of these

  • Thanks OP, got a price match from Officeworks North Sydney. The store has one more left in stock

  • How's everyone been going with price matching at Officeworks in Melbourne stores?
