  • What's the difference between this and the Harvey NOrman for $8?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/460387

    • 4x more wattage

    • +1

5w vs 20w would be the difference

      • +2

yeh so 5w would use less electricity so it will cost less to use……even better!

        • +1

but it will charge 4x slower if phone supports it

  • Unfortunately this doesn't fast charge with most phones

    • Could you elaborate? Is that based on the detailed specs or user reviews

      • It’s because some phones force a proprietary charger to have fast charging. For example, only the Mophie ones can charge an iPhone at 7.5w or the google pixels having high fast charge only if you buy their $100+ charger

        • Ah right, I get you. As a pixel owner I experience this first hand - there's nothing under $100 that fast charges the device wirelessly…terrible, just terrible

      • so which chargers support fast charge for S10e??

      • +1

Sorry totally forgot this comment, we've tested this Qi charger when it first came out earlier this year. It sounds good on paper, Qi-certified, 20W max output, and active-fan embedded.
However, it would not enter fast-charging mode for:

        • iPhone (7.5W)
        • Samsung (10W)
        • Huawei (15W)

For all of the above, the charger stays at 5W output mode, despite taking 12V (QC4.0) input from the 27W wall plug it comes with.

It's only useful for Xiaomi devices because of the above.

  • I would think this would quick wireless charge samsung phones at 10w maximum. Looks very nice, almost tempted but bit expensive considering no different in charging power to something half the price.

I just started using this. Once the fan kicks in, it's quite loud especially when charging my phone overnight. It's actually waking me up. Apart from that, it's charges nicely
