Belong Is Asking for Exit Fee for Cancelling 12 Month Contract Plan

I started my 12 month ADSL contract plan in June 2018 with Belong. In September I got switched to NBN and they recontracted the plan and ended ASDSL plan.

Now I need to move to new address. When I asked to disconnect they are asking me to pay $100 exit fee. Even if I move the service to new address, it's going to be new 12 month contract again. I never got informed about the recontract when they switched to NBN. Even the invoices are not stating the start and end date of contract.

I was thinking that 12 month contract will end next month. Now they were saying to either pay disconnection fee or start new contract at new address.

Please suggest me the best option now..

  Normally there'd be a relocation fee, so it kinda balances it out even if you lose out on that last month.

  thing is like there is no relocation fee…But they are saying that it will be again new 12 month contract if i move my service to new address.I don't want to get locked for 12 months for slow speed.

  All companies do that when nbn is newly available in a area.

  You get flyers from other ISP, then calls from your current ISP provider to switch over and start a new contract on nbn, and that's what you did.

  Not to sure about it, but you didn't need to switch over to nbn straight away. There's usually abit of time until you get forced to switch over.

    Thing is i wasn't informed of new contract…Otherwise i would have stopped it or move to other provider.Even in the Email they didn't mention that.How come i know that its a new contract as the provider is same.

  my advice is never go with belong.

  Such a horrible backwards company. Their mobile app is dead 90% of the time, or if it works it takes me 5 mins to log in to check my data. If it wasn't free I wouldn't use it.

  If you don't get satisfaction from Belong take it to the TIO.
