Does anyone know what would be the best toothpaste with similar texture to the plain Colgate Total toothpaste?
I went to BigW and noticed that the product was rebranded somewhat and the price doubled. $4. I almost spewed but in a rush I bought one.
I've tried the Cavity Protection one in the past but that one seems to be a lot more abrasive, which is the budget version at Woolworths. I've also tried the colgate total whitening products and colgate whitening products with tartar control, both which feel like they have sort of additional abrasive which I'd prefer not to be in there. I think the particles are slightly bigger because you can definitely feel it. The ingredients are probably the same but the texture is different because of this. Naturally this also affects how abrasive the product is.
Now you probably think I should get sensitive toothpaste but I don't think I'm at that point yet. I don't experience any problems when eating ice cold foods. My mouth is just slightly sensitive and I'm not wanting to damage the enamel by using something too abrasive.
Whitening products are always going to be slightly more abrasive, so even though it is cheaper to buy the whitening products $3.50 for a large tube of Colgate Whitening with Tartar Control (190g special at Coles). I still bought the new small Total version (115g) $4….
What does everyone use? I'm sure a lot of people use this previously $2 budget Colgate Total toothpaste. What are you going to buy now it has doubled in price?
Aldi have a clone of colgate total
