Hi everyone I bought a $29 15gb plan from Telstra with a Nighthawk modem. And I used it up in no time whilst away got home and found they charged me $10 per go over. Do you think that’s excessive? And do you know of better plans? Would it be locked to Telstra? Thanks

You signed up for the service and it clearly states in the T&C's the charges if you go over
No, youre just a muppet and didnt read the details correctly.
It's stupidly overpriced, yeah. But (tmk) Telstra tend to he fairly clear about it.
Not sure on better plans or if you could switch. Would advise reading more thoroughly/asking (especially here) about stuff like this in the future. Extra advice never hurts (from experience).
*Even if, however, you are locked in to Telstra you should be able to upgrade your plan for a price. Someone else should be able to help with that, but check your data usage and check for plans that will better suit your usage case.
I was just asking for advice I don’t need negative comments
You are actually lucky, the charges used to be something like $3 per mb!
The fact is that it's clearly listed in the T&Cs.
Sounds like you bought it on a contract but didn't understand what you were buying? You'll probably be able to go up a plan level with no issues.
Thanks for the positive responses
A Belong mobile sim eill cost a little more per GB but there's no automatic top up, you just get shaped. And you can add extra data for half the cost ($10/2GB, but if you plan in advance you can get half price sim cards and gift the data over) plus you get to keep all unused data, so if you have a light month that will help you when you have a heavier month.
Plus if I read correctly you're only using your current sim for data - this way you get calls too.
There's probably cheaper options for just data
