[Preowned] Nintendo Wii U Basic Console $78.40 (C&C) / $85.35 (Delivered) @ EB Games eBay

PRELUV

This is a great console for playing the pre-Switch library of Nintendo Games as it is pretty easy to softmod and has HDMI output for ease of use compared to the Wii.

I would recommend Click and Collect if you can - The first one they gave me in the previous deal looked pretty rough, but they had three others in stock so let me pick another one that is in near-mint condition.

    • Pickup a BittBoy for like 30 bucks. Thing's great for emulating NES/SNES games in a tiny lil miniGameBoy-esque format.

  • you have to love it when a site with the popularity, power and fame of eBay has crap UX like a flag saying "Please enter a quantity of 0 or less" :D

It'd be great if it could be marked as Out of Stock and disable the "Add to Cart" button; but even without those things, how does this message slip through UAT?

Got mine, definitely wasn't cleaned as it had some easy to remove scratches and marks. Bottom of the unit a bit scuffed but not a big deal. I was mostly concerned about the Gamepad but that seems in good condition with no significant scratches on the screen and turns on fine.

I'll give it all a good clean when I get home. They shouldn't say they give it "a good clean" when they don't.

Other than that, +1 from me. $78 is a bargain

  • FWIW, the preowned Wii U Premium is also on sale at EB for $118 which is still a fair deal.

I thought (my memory fails me badly) from the MetalJesusRocks You Tube buying guide that the Wii U Basic version did not include the gamepad (which is essential!) so had my mind set on the Premium. Now I note from EB description that the Basic has the gamepad. :\

The Wii U sold terribly compared to the Wii so it may be of value to collectors in future. I have seen Wii's virtually given away at garage sales / salvo's, amazing they were $350 new (?) back in the day!

Not to misinform anybody, both the premium and basic console came and need the Gamepad. The console won't work without it - as mentioned above and in the Metal Jesus video your referring to.

Some people might try and sell just the console cheap or as "faulty" in the hope to catch somebody whose unaware. The only difference between the two versions (other then price) was colour and onboard memory:

      Basic / White / 8gb internal memory
      Premium / Black / 32gb internal memory

      • The premium model, at least from EBGames, came with the charging stand for the gamepad, and often includes Mario Kart as well (sometimes a disc, sometimes on the console.

  • Premium console for sale for $94.40. Just bought that… may return the basic, will see which is in better condition

any idea where we can you buy some cheap controllers for it? tempted to get one!!

    • You mean wiimotes? If you're really lucky you might find some clearance stock left at target ($20), otherwise probably amazon will have the cheapest. Only get originals, knock-offs/second-hand are a waste of time.

    • Wondering the same thing

  • Hmm got the premium and got the basic, not sure whether to return the basic or just shove it in a box in the basement lol

  • there is stock now who want to get it using PRELUV
