  • Does anyone know if Class 10 sd cards are good enough for GOPRO 4K video recording?

    • +2

You definitely need UHD U3 like Samsung Evo Plus.

      • Thanks, that's what I thought, very good to know

    • +3

You’d have to ask how much 4K footage would a 16GB Card hold.

If I buy I would buy a 128GB one, just asking, no need to be a smartarse

        • +2

I don't think they were trying to be

Tempted to buy them, but genuinely don't know what I'd use them for. Everything I own already has a larger card in it, and I rarely swap them around. OTOH, it's only $2.

  • Bought some just last week dammit! While sequential speed is decent, random IO is pretty poor.

Anyone who does buy can you run h2testW on it and let us know if they're fakes?

There's not many sellers I'd trust to sell legit SD cards. Pcbyte, shoppingexpress/futu are about the only ones.

    • I tested the 16gb I got from them last night, 85/22MB/s read/write sequential.

      • Cheers that's good, but how about a capacity test?

that's how they often cheat, fake format a 2/4gb sd card to make it look like it's larger, you don't find out until you start getting errors. I've caught several ebay stores seling them.

        • Doubt it on a 16gb card.

You cant find 2 or 4gb sdcard now.
They don't fake cheap stuff, not worth it.

If its 128 or 256 or 500gb….yeah maybe

          • @lovepub: I got two last year, both were sold as samsung 32gb 48x, but actually 4gb. And slow ~4 mbps

Seller refunded immediately with some excuse about getting some duds, but was still selling them 6wks later :) of course i couldn't leave feedback.

These seem too cheap. Bit apparently legit.

Yeh, filled fine as well. Only tested 1x for capacity, but it'd be odd to see them selling random fakes.

          • @ryang: Awesome, thank you!

so, 10 = $3 now? WTH eBay AU?
which school were they from or what kind of teachers were these eBay guys had?

  • +1

Stock these up for the dash cam.

16gb is plenty for 1 days recording for driving . When accident happen…you would need to cease recording in case if overwriting

Under oz sun , sd cards dont survive .
I rather use small cheap sd cards and go through 2 or them a year., instead of buying a endurance one that cost 10 times or more

    • Also great for RaspPi
