    Agree. Medium rice has much better eating quality. That's why it is more expensive.

    If only I knew this sooner. I bought a 10kg bag a couple of months ago and it tastes awful. Absolutely no flavor whatsover. Now I use it to feed my chooks. They don't seem to mind.

  Isn't sunrice grown in Australia? IF this is so, it goes to show that water is WAY too cheap in this country, when a water hungry crop like rice can be sold for $1/kg.

    Just checked.

    Long Grain (green package) is product of Thailand.

    While the Medium Grain (red package) is product to Australia.

  I think my favourite of these rice deals was the maharajahs choice basmati one about a month back, that stuff has been awesome.

  Yeah long grain is pretty off.
  Go the medium-grain Calrose!
  Its way more like Japonica rice (sushi rice) which I prefer.
