These are excellent wallets, slim but hold a lot of cards if you have them (bit nowadays with stocard apps, I only have a few).

    • Good for holding notes as well as a couple of cards? I only carry like 3 cards due to Stocard. I have a slim card wallet but wanted somewhere to store a few cash notes

      • Yeah great for notes. Not great for coins.

    • Do the scanners in Woolies and Coles manage to read their cards now on Stocard? I've had Stocard for a few years but the scanners didn't read them before so I just kept using the physical card to scan.

      • yep, woolworths self scanning machine sometimes have problems but it eventually reads it

The one thing I like about the wallet is that it has a main card section, and they are held horizontal rather than vertical. Whenever i have a vertical card, they always split

      • Woolies usually works, coles doesn't at all.

You need to use the barcode scanner to the side of the machine, not the main scanner at the weighing scale. Works every time.

      • It's the shitty scanners - a scan gun works, but the ones you just blip the products across at self-serve don't work great.

        • It depends on the scan gun and scanner.

Laser scanners are not very good at reading phone screens.

Camera scanners scan phone screens better than laser.

      • Scanners read best when your screen is on maximum brightness.

Google pay sets it to maximum automatically for this reason.

If you have a Samsung phone then you would be better with Samsung Pay as they have a technology to use the proximity sensor to send a signal into the laser scanner so that the scanner doesn't actually read your screen.

Thanks, been keeping an eye out for one of these for a while. Don't forget 8% cash back on Shopback at the moment

  • Can Mod have a look at my comment above? They are just links to amazon and dj comparing prices.

    • You can't use referral links.

      • I didn't. It was a shortened amazon link.

        • You'll find most comparison, price websites use their own referral code.

Some amazing prices on some of the Bellroy sets:

Classic Set in black is $99: https://www.davidjones.com/Product/22243546/Classic-Set
Classic Set in caramel is $99: https://www.davidjones.com/Product/22243547/Classic-Set
Minimalist Set (but only for C&C) at $59: https://www.davidjones.com//22243550/Minimalist-Set.html

I believe this is the cheapest they've been (at least for a while).

    • What's the difference between the minimalist set and the actual wallet for 79?

    • No option to buy the Minimalist Set?

      • +1

Yeah they've started to take down listings/remove the "Add to Cart" button.

        • You're right, I'm getting page loading errors too :(

          • @iShibby: If it's any consolation, there's about 10 units of the minimalist set at Burwood NSW store. I was there twice today for 15 mins each but noone to help me open the glass drawer they were behind…

            Will try again tomorrow morning

            • @KSS: I’m in VIC and no stock apparently

Just a heads up on quality. I've had mine for about 6 years. Leather and all compartments are in great condition and working as they should. I haven't even been taking that good care of it either.

The leather will stretch and mold to whatever is inside. For instance, I had a singular house key that I'd leave in there which would create an outline on the leather. Took it out and 3 months later the leather has molded back to normal. Just a little thing.

    Couldn't recommend higher!

  • Looks like there are two types of 'note sleeves': the non-RFID one that comes with the bundle and the RFID one that can only be purchased separately.

  • i see a full price 114
    mmmm

    • Looks like they're ending the sale/removing the "Add to Cart" button for some of them.

    • Yuck

      • I know! Disgusting how overpriced wallets are!

        • You're paying a premium for something thats quality rather than a $3 Chinese phone case wallet that wont last the month

          • @jsediv: Well, I mean I have had mine for 2 years, but I was just teasing you.

You can buy overpriced phone wallet cases too!

  • just copped one last week

There's still the navy note sleeve for $79 https://www.davidjones.com/men/accessories/wallets?filter&as…

  • I used to find a bargain price (never been used) in Gumtree.

  • Bought one classic set for 99 at Ringwood David Jones. There are still a lot of stocks here.

  • Picked up a slim sleeve at Westfield Garden City today at 4.30 & the sales guy was in the process of marking down the current stock. Quite a bit left too

  • I can attest to their quality. I washed mine in the washing machine by mistake and was just about to order a new one when I decided to see if I can let it air dry and apply leather conditioner to it.

It’s now even nicer than before. Great quality for this price.

  • Checked the price online. Was back up to 114. Went into the woden store and the lady said the promotion ended. Got her to check the price anyway and it came up as 79, plenty of stock. Bought one for myself

  • I went to two David Jones stores today and they both had plenty of stock even though the website shows no stock. Still selling at $79 for the note sleeve. Worth a call ahead to check. They really need to sort out their website.
