    This is a single boiler machine whereas bes920 is a dual boiler which means you can froth and pull a shot at the same time. Bes920 doesn’t have automatic frothing but this does.

    Silvia is a single boiler but no Automatic frothing

  My wife and I bought this machine for a joint present to each other for Christmas and it's great, it does a great job with various grinds etc. Off memory we paid around $470 at the time which was great, so this is an even better deal with the cash back and visa card.

  For us having a froth and shot at the same time was not important so this suited our needs.

  We hardly buy coffee out any longer, the machine has pretty much paid for itself in 6 months lol.

  One thing that has started is that the baskets that hold the coffee seem to get stuck in the machine occasionally when removing the handle from the machine. I've learnt to put a bit of pressure when turning the handle and it seems to be ok.

    Breville cheaped out on this on the 920 - I've had to replace mine, and both the original and the replacement are nasty extrusions with stress lines before installation.

    Easy to check - take the water supply out, flip on its top and check the black plastic screen under the metal outer for cracks.

    I hope this isn't your problem, but if it is, it's an easy fix.

    are you performing maintenance?

    Most people recommend to perform weekly maintenance using a solvent and backwash it

  I've got a Nespresso Creatista and have been thinking of upgrading to one this. Can anyone who has gone through this share some thoughts? How much better did your coffee end up being? I'm also the only one in the house that drinks coffee, 1-2 cups a day, so is there much wastage since your grinding the beans down but only making 1-2 cups?

    I have one. The best feature of this machine is the automatic milk steamer, especially at this price range.
    If you are too lazy to steam the milk like myself, then this a great little machine. If you want to be more hands on, then dual boiler is the better choice.
