Foxtel IQ3 Recording in SD

My Foxtel IQ3 boxes are recording in SD, although watching live I have HD. I don’t seem to be able to locate an option to record in HD.
What am I missing here ? .

    Are you recording on the HD channel?

    If you’ve upgraded to HD and you have old series links they will continue to record in SD, you have to cancel series links and start new series links on the HD channel version.

    How are you setting your recordings? Using the remote or via an app?

    So I record with the remote. Mainly fox sports channels 501 to 506 which are all HD.
    Could it just be a loss of quality between live and recording, as there is a noticeable loss of quality when playing back recorded events.I am presuming if a channel broadcasts in HD it records in HD as there is no option to select HD or SD when recording.

      If you go into library > scheduled
      Does it say foxsports506hd under the scheduled programs

      When you playback the recording does it say "HD" in the top right corner? eg. 501 HD, 502 HD (the logo)

    Yes shows the HD Logo, so I have come to the conclusion that the issue is the cheap Kogan HDMI cable I am using.

      A cheap HDMI cable won't make the picture quality bad.
