    shipping rip off

    • Local metro melb is only $9.33 inc handling.
Cheaper than me driving to Moorabbin and back from Narre Warren

not a big fan of the taste of Dr Pepper……

    • You silly person.

      • +2

I would rather eat my own spleen

  • +1

pretty sure last time they had free shipping on this same offer

  • +1

They charge $2.50-$3 a CAN around here, so even $60 for 48 is a good deal. Not that I can stand the taste of it, but for those that do….

    • +2

Agreed. Various IGA stores in Canberra have individual cans for $2 each.

      • which ones southside sell em

        • Gordon IGA

  • +2

i paid $40+$8 shipping about 2 months back for the same number of cans

      The taste affects it's aerodynamics?

This is Palm Five approaching face runway one. Cleared for landing…slap…we have facepalm! ;)

Dr Pepper is a great drink, my favourite of all soft drinks. Hate the price though.

There is actually a big market for the drink here, if they released it again.

  • +1

I love Dr Pepper. Every time I'm in the USA I drink a lot of that and Sierra Mist.

Those are 2 drinks I'd love to get in Aus.

    • +5

+1 for Sierra Mist. Cherry Coke Zero wouldn't go astray either.

      • +1

Cherry Coke is amazing. I love America…so many tasty soft drinks.

  • Just bought a couple of slabs, should last a while as my kids dont like it that much.
also got some Reeses minis cups, personally i dont like them but the kids do.
nothing like a full on sugar rush for all the family in a day or so

oh god. Sorry to those who like it, but the stuff is absolutely vile

  • +1

    love this stuff
lived off it when i was a kid.
anyone know why they took it off the market in aus?

    • +2

Probably the same reason that Vegemite didn't sell well in America.

It is certainly an "aquired taste"… and most Aussies (including me) think that it is not a taste that we wish to revisit any time in the future.

  • +3

Can you get diet Dr Pepper in Oz? I lived off the stuff in the UK.

    • +1

Yes you can, at least in Sydney you can

      • Hmm. Which shops in Sydney?
Any advice for getting it in Perth?

        • +1

Don't? There actually used to be a place in Armadale that sold it, but they've closed down. There's a place in…can't remember that it's called, the London-themed section in the CBD that sells all sorts of Brit foods and rink, they MIGHT sell it, I've only been in there a few times.

        • For some reason i can't reply directly to you Captain Obvious. I think you're speaking of "London Court". Probably expensive, but I'll take a look next time I'm in town. Cheers.

        • Yeah it happens when there's been two replies already, I think to make sure the comments don't go off the screen. I do indeed mean London Court, just couldn't remember the name. That's probably the only store I can think of though that might have it. If you enter from the pedestrian mall side (ie David Jones side) the shop is about 1/2-2/3 of the way down on the right-hand side.

    • Same, I like the original Dr Pepper but find it very sweet, the diet is spot on! :)

    • I get it from the newsagent across the road (Creek St, Brisbane), I don't know the price but it's great stuff.. I wish the cans were bigger :D

  • just bought 2 slabs, only paid $6.83 + $2.50 postage. All up cost $49.33. I live in melbourne so postage is cheaper. Love my DrPepper and JD.

  • Er does that mean they expire on June 30 2011 or the offer is valid til June 30…
$40 for 48 cans is a steal but there is one thing i know; never drink off dr pepper, they sold some at my Uni (maq uni)
and it gave me heart palpitations :(

    • +2

I think they expire or best before June 30 - the link has a little blurb in the description about short shelf life items.

1.5 cans of Dr Pepper/day, go!

  • +1

this drink is way up there along with root beer (A&W!!!!!!!!!!!!). sarsparilla too, when i can't get any Dr.Pepper or A&W (which is like 95% of the time)

  • +2

this stuff tastes like goanna oil.

  • Diet DP is the shiz

  • +1

I was conditioned off this drink when I was a kid. Dr Pepper tastes almost exactly like this chinese medicine my parents used to force feed me (the azns out there should know it - Pei Pa Gou).

Off topic, wonder what'd happen if you force fed a kid Coke whenever they were sick?

    • +1

I drink Pei Pa Gou when I cant find Dr Pepper.

  • this available in store too?

    • If you order online, generally they will allow you to pick up in store. But generally, you cant just walk in and buy it off the shelf.

    • No. This offer was sent out in an email which I just read.
It says down the bottom, "Sorry, no pickups - internet special only"

      • I emailed them last time to ask, and they let me pick it up. I just emailed again to check and they did not allow it. Even after the ~$10 postage, $50 for two slabs is cheaper than anywhere else. CostCo sell for $29 per slab.

  • Awesome deal

Question - Does ones personal opinion of the taste of this particular beverage determine whether it's a bargain or not? Cause it hardly seems neg worthy…

    • Nah. I think the stuff is absolutely vile, but I'm not going to neg it because for those who like the stuff, it probably is a bargain.

  • I usually get my Dr Pepper from Costco - Melbourne.

    It's about $30 for 24 which isn't that bad.
