  • @op, shipment tracking of TNT is crappy. Do they call ahead before attempting to deliver?

    • Sent PM to Astivita requesting details of what happens with delivery. No reply.

My delivery stated booked for before 6pm yesterday. Stayed home all day - no delivery.
      Status showed "Collecting" all day.

Today delivery is pending. Still shows "Collecting".
Had earlier sent PM that I am out of city all today, so can't take delivery…

      Sent another PM.
      Disappointed😢

      • Exactly same experience here! Not sure if I should stay home today.

        • Staying home for me is not an option. In charge of important family funeral in country town today. Really could do without this uncertainty.

        • Any update on your delivery?
Mine moved from "Collecting" to "In Transit", but still at "Scheduled Delivery Pending" for last 24 hours.
No response to 2 PM to Rep.

    • No notice of delivery - just turned up & put by front door.
Delivery status is still "pending" on TNT tracking despite delivery today.

Delivery status was "booked for delivery by 18:00" on Tuesday.

  • Awesome rep! Mine was delivered today by TNT truck.

I was panicked because Amazon email ETA'd for next week so was prepared to help delivery guy take it up our steep driveway… Dude had an electric pallet jack

    EDIT
    Box says 535 litres

    • Just arrived - also in Brissie.

Put a beer on ice while I unpacked, removed 3 glass shelves & crisper drawers (to slightly reduce weight), lashed it to a light weight handcart (no issues), just made it through front door, & maneuvered it into ground floor kitchen by myself.

Quite manageable installation - but wouldn't want to take up stairs without good trolley & assistance!

Huge truck with just my fridge. Pallet jack did not leave truck - he used hand cart on steep hill, then flat driveway. Left at front door (tried to convince to take it inside, but needed packaging removed - "I'm just a courier").

      First impressions:
      Looks good.
Doors are reversible. Hinge in bag.
On rollers to give easy access.
Includes egg & ice cube trays.
1700mm mains cable is just long enough in my installation to move fridge out to clean behind.

Ignore Reps reference to depth with door handle. That door handle is mentioned in manual, but does not come with this model. Wasn't shown in Amazon photos.

      Dimensions: 750W x 780D x 1690H
There is plastic packaging around compressor that sticks out a little more. I assume this should be removed with the 2 screws?? Nothing stated in basic Manual.

Box shows 535 litres (85kg gross weight with packaging & pallet), manual inside fridge shows model as HD663FWENSS (633L Stainless Steel). Confusing😱
Will measure after lunch & beer…

      Manual shows how to level.
Leave for 30 minutes after shifting before turning on.

      • Great info. Thanks for plugging the many information gaps on this brand and model. Here's hoping it serves you well.

        • There were gaps - I didn't notice😀

Waiting 30 min to turn on time.
Relaxing with a chilled Asahi can from my old freezer, to celebrate🎉
          How I suffered without a fridge😢

          Then I'll check capacity.

      • +1

Stainless Steel door, matte grey sides.

There is plastic (packaging?) around compressor that sticks out a little more. I assume this should be removed with the 2 screws?? Nothing stated in basic Manual.

Removed it. Easily pops out. As it
sticks out & is only thing with screws on show, I assume this was for securing compressor from movement in shipping. So, I'd say it is meant to be removed. But would expect "remove before installation" notice on it! Compressors shouldn't move during shipping, but usually are allowed to move in use - from my experience.
Would be unusual the compressor that gets hot would have plastic against it.

Needed levelling - I got a very left leaning fridge. Probably talking about me to it's Xiaomi buddies…
        I'm sure it is a socialist conspiracy😱

        • +1

Correction: DON'T REMOVE THE WHITE PLASTIC AROUND COMPRESSOR!!

It is a water reservoir, which runs the water out of fridge down into tray heated by returning hot gas - evaporating the water.

Checked behind fridge early this morning - after removal of the plastic fitting last night, it had left a small puddle. Bad doggie!

        Amazon specs:
        Fridge Size: 512L
        Freezer Size: 151L
        Total: 663L

        measured interior (approx):
        Fridge Size: 396L👎
        .650W x .650D x 1.025H x 1000 = 433L
        less compressor housing .650W x .225D x .250H = 37L

        Freezer Size: 137L👎
        .570W x .480D x .500H x 1000

        Total: 533L👎
👎👎So fridge is 535L, not 633L stated by Amazon, updated by Rep & manual👎👎

Please check my measurements & calculation! Have an ice cold beer in hand which may cause errors🍺

        • Confirmed by data label on rear of fridge. 398 + 137L
Less drinking - more thinking next time🍺

    • As this was sold in the Marketplace, Amazon has no idea of delivery date, so sets as longest likely date.

Amazon provides TNT tracking number - searching TNT site gives delivery info (which was 2 days ago for me!).

Brisbane deliveries (location of warehouse in Rocklea) likely to be earliest.

    • +1

Its not constructed the best, definitely feels like a cheap fridge, but i cant complain since it cost $380 delivered after the shopback 8% kitchen category cashback.

It even came with all the brackets that allowed me to swap which side the doors open!

I'll be happy if i get over 5yrs out of it

      • This is in place of a 45 year old fridge originally owned by parents. Compressor died recently. In that time, only needed new door seal & light, and I replaced compressor relay 10 years ago.
Somehow I think this won't last too long… But it's cheap.

Set it up on a power meter to graph energy usage & dual temp meter to record fridge & freezer temps.
        All looking fine so far.

    What a confusing, misleasing deal👎
Wrong price at start (reduced), wrong depth (reduced), updated fridge capcity (increased), new stated depth included handle not shown in Amazon photos nor provided (confusing)…

And now fridge is 535L (shown on carton & measured), not the promised 633L
Even the provided fridge manual shows model number HD663FWENSS which infers 663L!

I asked Rep Are you certain this is a 663L fridge?
Astivita: Midea list it as a 663L Fridge

How could Rep have got this deal more wrong😱

That's the problem of raising expectations, but failing to deliver on promises👎
    Disappointing😢
    Upvote revoked.

    • +1

Yeah got mine too and noticed the 535l on the box. Donno if it's enough of a reason to revoke given you got what you ordered. Agree it was very confusing but to be honest if they had their stuff together do you think they'd be selling large fridges with free delivery this cheap?

      • Revoking an earlier upvote is the mildest rebuke.

The number of misrepresentations & errors by the Rep is worthy of a Neg for a deal like this.

This business can't be trusted to represent its products accurately - a valid reason for a neg. I won't trust it.

What business does not know the product they sell?

        • Yeah fair. It's pretty ordinary. Good luck to us if we have any warranty issues lol

          • @sickllama: The business still incorrectly lists this 535L fridge on Amazon as 663L. That's deceptive conduct under Consumer Law😠

            • @INFIDEL: I'd be well pissed if I ordered a 663l fridge and got a 535l one. To be honest I've got what I ordered at a very competitive price. and the timing was perfect for me too, so I'm happy. If I don't have any warranty issues in the 24 months I'll be happy enough.

        • Agreed 100%. A shameless lack of product knowledge or care factor has been apparent since the outset.

Can't recall a more misleading deal with all fault lying at the feet of the seller and their rep.

          Yellow card…

          • +2

@UncleRico: We are truly sorry for the confusion and issues with the Fridge and would like to address a few of them.

            TNT Delivery:
We have and many issues with TNT in the past and not being able to get them to call customers in advance, as well as their inaccurate tracking system.
Starting 6 months ago we committed to all new products being fulfilled by Amazon to avoid the issues of 3rd party delivery and in the future we can guarantee a smooth delivery experience from Amazon for all our products. This product unfortunately was an old one from before my time.

Anyone who does experience a stressful or unsatisfactory delivery experience I would kindly ask to contact us and we will issue you a partial refund on your order to make the situation right.

            Dimensions:
The fridge from when we received it in stock had 535L labelled on it, but the model code and dimensions of Midea's 663L fridge (with a handle).
When I went to put up the deal to clear this item I took the 535L at face value, along with the dimensions and posted it here not for a second thinking someone could input the wrong product info when placing an item in our system.
On reading people questioning the dimensions I tried my best to search for the correct info that night and I am truly sorry for the confusion surrounding that. This was a once off mistake in inputting a product that caused a world of issues and we have gone through and double checked our other items to ensure a similar mistake is not repeated. Please trust us that this is not a regular occurrence with our products.

That being said if anyone is unhappy in any way with the item they received please just contact us and we will organise a full refund.

            Capacity:
In regard to capacity the Fridge does have a Gross Capacity of 663L and a Net Capacity of close to 535L. Many other sites list this model as a 663L as is standard I believe in the industry to list Gross Capacity.

If anyone is unhappy in any way with the item they received please just contact us and we will organise a full refund.

If there are any other questions/ issues you have surrounding this product and your order, please do not hesitate to contact us through Amazon and will ensure they are taken care of.

            Kind Regards,
            Joseph ([email protected])

            • +1

@Astivita: Thanks for the reply. Agree it was confusing, but it happens. At the end of the day for me it was listed as 535L when I clicked buy and that's what I received with rather quick delivery from TNT. Someone was home when it was delivered so no issues from me in that aspect.

I'm yet to unpack the fridge (that's a weekend job) so I'll reserve my review until then but I'm a happy customer so far :)

              Keep the deals coming!

P.s. I don't think it is industry standard to advertise gross capacity. Harvey Norman wasn't doing so recently when I was fridge shopping

              • @sickllama: The model number HD663FWENSS on the manual & back of fridge infers a 663L fridge.

Total exterior volume of fridge is not / never normally quoted here.

But, as Rep & I calculated earlier, the exterior volume is around 1000L, not 663! So who knows what 663 refers to?

Data label on fridge rear shows 535L, 398 + 137L.

            • @Astivita: Unfortunately, you set up expectations of a larger fridge, which could not be met. I was disappointed - but I'll soon get over it. Am happy with the fridge & it's operation.

Understand the problems posting this deal, now you've explained them.
But 663 is not the exterior of interior volume of fridge. We both calculated this as around 1000L!

I've ordered a mixer tap & basin before & was very happy with it. Exceeded my expectations at a great price!

Replied to your PM, after receiving your apology regarding the additional TNT stuff up with delivery date on my order (at a particularly stressful time). Thanks for the offer of a part refund - accepted.

However, Amazon still lists this as a 663L fridge!! Better fix that ASAP!

              • @INFIDEL: I alerted Amazon to the listing errors at 20:14 last night (so others thinking of buying would not be misled about the capacity).

It is still listed as 663L!
"Fridge Size: 512L Freezer Size: 151L"
Data label on fridge rear shows 535L, 398 + 137L.

Amazon replied around midnight they had forwarded the issue to the business. Amazon quickly passed the buck to Astivita - Amazon is not to blame!

Seems there has been a bit of late night activity since then…

Before midnight, there was an apology & offers to refund if dissatisfied (I assume taking fridge back or cancelling delivery), Astivita has acted promptly & appropriately, given these circumstances.

But pity this ever happened, for the business & buyers.

We regularly see pricing & other errors on OzBargain. Those often are corrected. But the Rep had answered my question - Are you certain this is a 663L fridge? - with yes.

  • Apologies again everyone and thank you for your understanding!

What does everyone think when it comes to how the fridge volume should be calculated and displayed?

A look at appliances online shows a distinct difference between advertised gross capacity on some fridges and the net capacity.
This one for example is listed as a 528L fridge, but when you look at the specs in the manual its net capacity is only 490L. (they also call it a 530L fridge in the URL)
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/westinghouse-wbe…
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/public/manuals/WBE5300SA…

    593L Gross vs 545L Net
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/hisense-hr6tff60…
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/public/manuals/Hisense-H…

For our fridge in particular Midea seems to have calculated the gross capacity of the fridge and freezer compartments at 663L, but the net at only 511L.
Would appreciate your help on which volume you would prefer to be displayed.

    Astivita

    • Replied to your PM about this, added here for discussion.

The capacity or volume of your fridge describes its total internal space with the shelves and other accoutrements removed, and is typically measured in litres.

Internal Volume is displayed in the Data Label on rear of fridge , described as Total Gross Volume:
      Total 535L, Fridge 398 + Freezer 137L.
That is also what I found by measurement.
Buyers want to know how much can fit in fridge/freezer.

Although Amazon listing has been changed, it is worryingly inaccurate / confusing / misleading!

Astivita Fridge 663L Refrigerator + Freezer
GROSS CAPACITY: Fridge: 512L Freezer: 151L
      NET CAPACITY: 511L(R:396,F:115)

That's not what is shown on rear of fridge or as measured!!
Buyers will expect the description in the listing to match the specs on the product, or they will be very upset😱

Where do these strange figures come from?

Internal Volume (Total Gross Volume shown on label) seems to be what is displayed in stores - you can compare fridges based on that.

Internal Volume / Total Gross Volume makes this a 525L fridge as shown on the label!

Net Volume is likely Internal Volume - some mouldings & fittings filling that space. That hasn't been quoted in stores in my experience. Is only slightly less than Internal Volume.

Best to check with authorities about correct way to describe fridge capacity. There must be a standard. Describing your product otherwise may lead to issues under ACL!

      • Updated to 535L! Thank you for your help on this^.
There seems to be no universal standard on how fridges are measured and displayed to consumers and as much as this model was called a 663L by the manufacturer, we can't find their calculations to back that up.

Again if anyone is unhappy with the fridge please message us through amazon and we will look after you.

        • The universal thinking of the buyer is of the usable volume, never mind any other measurements. Get that right and buyer won't be surprised, or disappointed.

Now I see the '633L' listed at $599 is now a 535L listed at $599. After this debacle I don't see anyone from here buying it at that.

          But I will take a 535L at $414, if you've got one. :-)

        • Sent you another PM regarding Amazon listing.
Keep it simple. Just list as "Capacity" 535L (Fridge 398L, Freezer 137L) as shown on fridge & my measurements confirmed.
Not "Net Capacity" as currently listed (internal volume left after deducting volume of shelves etc).

This mystery fridge is performing well & looks good. Very happy with my purchase👍

  • 535L Fridge: operating very well. Very quiet.

Settings: Fridge: 2 (1 is coldest) Freezer: Mid
    May need adjustment.

    Temp (8am) Fridge: 3C Freezer: -17C Room: 15C
Observed operating within healthy temp range. Will use graphing temp meter to observe variations.

Power consumption (2nd day): 422Wh/d - nice & low! (Freezer full, Fridge 1/4 full.)
That's less than half estimated daily consumption of 333,000Wh/365 = 912Wh, but room temp is low. Will be higher in summer. So looking good for cheap operating costs on a fridge this size.

  • +1

For a more detailed manual see the Kogan fridge manual & specs downloads.

Kogan 535L is same fridge except in White & dearer price ($765 delivered to Brisbane).

Manual lists the same incorrect depth as in this deal - so a confusing error by the manufacturer, not Rep.

Apart from 663 in the model number, there seems to be no explanation for posting this as a 663L fridge - except that it was an unfortunate data entry error at the warehouse.
