  • Not a neg, but more a why - yes it's a bargain (good find) compared to the same price for the same unit at JB HiFi. But why would you get this when you can land a Kindle in Australia at a lower price?

I know this apparently has a touch screen (Big W site is down so can't check) but spending $200+ on a reader I would think you're better to buy a kindle.

    • imo the touchscreen has much better aesthetics than the kindle's keyboard.

      • Aesthetics yes, but the reviews of the touchscreen are damning. Including that glare is now a problem.

  • Yeah, it's $100 overpriced for what it is. Kindle or the new Nook Touch are better value.

  • I've got the 1st ed. Nook and love it to bits. The little colour touchscreen is nicer than the Kindle for navigation, but functionally not much diff.

Landed my Nook for $150 and $10 for a case - 10 boxes of books down to 1 SD card!

My one gripe is the organisation/sorting of books needs work esp when you have hundreds of books loaded (on both Kindle and Nook). I end up using Calibre as my library system and just loading a few titles on to the Nook at any given time.

Anyone know much about how the iRiver organises/sorts books?

Hmm Big W spec says Weight = 0.025kg… oops?

The glare is a bit of a problem.
touch screen slightly slow to react.

    Pro

    Sd card slot.
Mp3 playing function is useful can read and play audio at the same time. (could be useful at times)
annotating a book and saving it as a screen shot is a plus.
    very good battery life
comes with a shell cover which is very useful to prevent the screen from breaking.

    dunno about the price though.
