I recommend Comfortech "College". Genuine kangaroo leather, they lasted for years, best shoes i ever bought. And always been excluded from from earlier sales and deals.

  How are the soles on the College? Frankly florsheim is known to produce soles that won't last 12 months of light use.

    It a piece of polyurethane nail onto something hard feel like wood. I also have a "Fairfield" model which is full rubber sole and they tend to wears out real fast (would not buy a fairfield again due to other quality issue)

    I have owned 3 Florsheim, and they have all been well below my expectations. I wouldn't pay over $70 for them, with the knowledge that they may not last.

  My experience with the 'College' shoe has been very positive.

  *The leather is very supple.
  *No uneven wear on the sole or heel.
  *Happier with these than anything else I've had from Florsheim.

  Original price is pretty up there - so 25% isn't too generous if, like my pair, they were made in India.
