If I Live in an Apartment Block Do I Still Need to Jumper The MDF Board for NBN?

Hi everyone, would love your thoughts on this, basically I live in an apartment block, my understanding is that NBN go's up to the building and its up to the building to jumper to each room, and as such I've stayed away from NBN because I don't want to deal with strata to get access to the comms panel.
I contacted Aussie Broadband today though and they told me that a technician is only needed for the node, nothing needs to be done on the premises (gave them my address).

Is this correct? I'd love to be wrong so I can start getting NBN finally, but I have a feeling the sales person might just be thinking of typical cases? Would love some thoughts, thanks!

  • what tech? FTTB or FTTN?
    Aussie are talking about FTTN.

    • Thanks heaps for the quick reply, I asked in particular if my building needed jumpering on the MDF board, I got a vague answer back (which is why I was skeptical) but they stated 'no technician is required at all at my building for me to get NBN, a technician is only needed at the node'. So I'm guessing they mean they only need 1 (their) tech?

      FTTB as well. Cheers!

      • +1

FTTB they'll need to go to MDF

        • Thanks for that mate, figured the sales person likely didn't know what MDF meant, much appreciated.

          • @trustnoone: is TPG fttb available there. if it is, you're better off with them rather than NBN. $60 for 100Mbps

            • @follow: Thanks mate, didn't know it even existed. Just searched it up now, apparently it is available, it seems cheaper and from the reviews look great. I'm guessing I'll still have to get jumpering done on the MDF board? But definitely game changer for me, cheers!
